I really don’t think Levy would let either leave for nothing. I expect Eriksen to sign a new deal and stay (and be told to play out of his skin to get Barça or Real Madrid in for him next summer). Maybe even include a release clause in his new deal. I would be amazed if a top club were not all over Alderweireld for just £25M. When players like Maguire command £85M+ he is a bargain and easily has three years left at the top.

Think of eriksen doesn't get one of the Spanish big two or juve then he'll sign a new contract with us.
We've had itk in the past saving it's not about the money with him.

Juve will certainly want to wait for Eriksen to run down his contract and get him for free. That's my main concern - would be surprising to see Eriksen signing a new contract if he doesn't get this Real move.

That's what ITK said he would though.

Eriksen doesn't seems to be the guy who would run down his contract and let us suffer because of money-issues, he's a good guy.
Being here 6 years we must mean something to him, and I hope he will sign a new contract when the windows shuts with a clause for Madrid/Barca.

I agree. I imagine Levy hates clauses but in this scenario it would make sense if a new deal was reliant on it. Onus is then on Eriksen to have brilliant season to win trophies with us or earn his dream move.

It would be interesting to know who fans would prefer we had in the squad next season if we had to make a choice?

Eriksen or Lo Celso?

Personally I think it has to be Eriksen.

Is that really a question? You can't be serious.

All though we have plenty of Eriksen-haters in here, so they would probably vote for GLC, and then come crying back half way season.

If Eriksen signs a new deal and we get Lo Celso that is far better than losing Eriksen and getting Ceballos for one season.

Ceballos is a big downgrade on Eriksen and would only be here for a season.

Think Trix said that from what he understands Lo Celso is not related to Eriksen, Ceballos is related to Eriksen leaving.

Lot of media attention for Eriksen from Spurs the last few days, at least in my opinion.

I reckon Eriksen stays and signs a new deal. Can feel it in my plums.

Would be over the moon tbf. Imagine the front six options with Winks, Sissoko, Ndombele, Sessegnon (?), Lo Celso (?), Eriksen, Son, Lucas, Lamela, Dele, Kane

If Christian stays and joins the midfield with N'Dombele and Sissoko at the heart of it -jesus, I think we'd have arguably the best midfield in the league. Throw in Son or Lucus and Dele and it's a near perfect mix of strength, power, goal threat and speed. Harry Kane could get 30 league goals if everyone can stay reasonably fit.

Bring the season on!

Hercules did say in one of his updates on 11th July
RM not showing the eagerness either financially, or otherwise for CE. He has a deadline which is very close now, to commit. And I won’t go further on that.

I wonder if that deadline was only a week he has featured a lot in the media posts and also the comments by Jan this morning...... maybe just maybe

All looks very amiable and cosy..if Eriksen is leaving. Make of this what you will..

For my 2 penneth I have this feeling that a new contract may soon be announced..maybe

Good work by Mauricio to stroke his ego.

Like he'd ever win that game against Zidane.

"Very close deadline" is for sure not 3 weeks.

So I think you could be right with mayb 1 or 2 weeks at max.
