Really saw an extra maturity in Eriksen this season. Taking games into his own hands, being more vocal at team mates (see Son at Chelsea). I think he's become confident in himself and sees himself as key component in the side (which he 100% is). I think he feels Poch's trust and is now one of his generals on the pitch along with Hugo, Harry, Vertonghen and Dier.

It's what has pushed him into the world class category IMHO.

Add to that the new stadium and what seems to be at least a 100% payrise and it makes sense why he'd stay this year.

The article is positive IMO. National duty is like a truth serum with regards transfers.

Of course if the big 2 from Spain get real serious it would be worrying but hopefully there is some lower hanging fruit for them (Lewandowski/Hazard).

Mundo Deportivo claim today that Barcelona tried to to sign Eriksen last season around the time when the Coutinho deal looked shaky but Levy blankly refused. They go on to say that they've been told that the only way we'd entertain it would be a "crazy" offer with a bid of €190,000,000 + Andre Gomes being a starting point.

Firstly, I do NOT want us to even contemplate selling Eriksen.

Having never seen this Gomes, hypothetically speaking, would that deal you say they mentioned be a decent one / good starting point? The figure mentioned is hardly small change for a starting point, that's around £167mil.

It would be, we wanted Gomes and he was great before he joined but Mundo (Barca's Marca) are basically saying that Barca couldn't make the numbers work and it is "imposible" (impossible).

Thank you for the response (and the link to the story) , I appreciate that (y)

Interesting that the article states that it's unaffordable for Barcelona, but then (seemingly) suggests that the reason for that is because they've got the outlay for Griezmann, which has supposedly now gone tits up. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about, though.

Got to love Google translate though, "The Catalan club wanted to know their current situation in Tottenham, verify the relations of the Danish crack with his representative Martin Shoot "

What the fuck is a Danish crack?

From seeing Spanish here and there from possible signings and Lamela, I think crack just means like very good or something. Someone here will better explain it

Not terribly worried both Barca and Real essentially need to sell to buy before an Eriksen move could ever be considered. So I almost completely rule out Barca, while Real could possibly try to fund it through selling Bale.

Love him new contract. Yeeees bit excited :woot::headphone:

Especially after he was previously rumoured to have agreed to give us one more year last summer before looking to step up a level. We’re now arguably on the cusp of the elite and with the top clubs experiencing a dip in form due to ageing squads there’s a real chance for us to compete with them.

Eriksen saying, "See you next season" at the very end of this tweet video after today's game. :woot:

When does my Blue ITK post highlighting arrive? Will there be a ceremony? I'm thinking something along the lines of the pageantry of receiving a knighthood, or being made as a member of the Mafia etc.
