Makes not getting Maddison for £22m even stranger if we feel eriksen might go.
Would have been a perfect replacement.
Would have been a perfect replacement.
Is it?
I literally have no idea what players are worth anymore. Does £50m get you Sancho? No idea tbh, and he's more of a winger.
We'd need a playmaker if Eriksen goes. I'd be more inclined to get NDombele (which we should be doing anyway, to replace Dembele) and that kid from Austria (Wolf) as a punt.
I'm not sure any of those clubs would be the one club other than the two Spanish clubs and JJ says it's not Barca we are left with the other one.The "one club" seems romantic to me. IMO he'd leave us for Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Juve, PSG and potentially even United or City.
I love him, but wouldn't begrudge him a move to one of the giants abroad. I also don't think it'd be as catastrophic as others seem to if he were to move on. Just bring back Pritchard.
Maddison is nowhere, and never will be, near Eriksen’s level.Makes not getting Maddison for £22m even stranger if we feel eriksen might go.

That was a joke (easy), I suspect both those players will go for nearer £80M-£100M than £50M if they leave next summer. But it was under the premise that we get a young playmaker from Real (Asensio, or basically their best young talent open to coming).
Happy to give Lamela a shot at it if he stays fit this season, plus Dele looks to be maturing into a Midfield fulcrum player as well.
If we reinvested say £140M from selling Eriksen we could be stacked with NDombele.
My inclination would be to throw big money at Sancho, said last summer that I felt he was a much bigger talent Vs Sessegnon and that is bearing out. Wasn't he from Watford? If so he can live near his family and friends with us.
I'd want us to get similar money as Liverpool got for Coutinho.
If you couple his workrate with his creativity I can't think of another creative midfielder better or more versatile than him in Europe (De Bruyne is a bit different IMO). He's a manager's dream.
If we got that sort of cash for him I'd genuinely try to get Pogba off United.
*2 points from 8 games, losing at home to Sunderland and Hull
**AVB losing the plot, thrashed by West Ham at home, then Sherwood taking over
But, yeah, it was fine after we'd gone through a couple of managers.

Of course we're doing lots of things right. And I know it's not easy. I'm sure nothing about being a top-four club in the PL is easy.We must be doing something right though as proved by our top four finishes and our players being in such demand by the very best teams.
Eriksen was exactly that type of player you say we should be looking for. He was talented but tended to fade badly in and out of matches. As he matured and with Poch’s guidance he has become the world star we all admire. No reason why he can’t find similar although that player may not be a direct replacement and we may have to change how we play.Of course we're doing lots of things right. And I know it's not easy. I'm just saying I don't have confidence in us adequately replacing Eriksen.
We aren't going to go and buy a superstar, so we have to be shrewd and take a calculated gamble on someone who has the potential. And we don't seem to be recruiting those types of midfielders. Eriksen has great skill and vision, and also - I think - regularly runs more than any other player in our team. His only weakness is tackling and, bizarrely, corners. If ever we needed our scouts to find a gem, this'll be the time.
We’re signing pjanic in the summer?Eriksen aint leaving in jan so i'll put my panic on hold till next summer.
Pjanic! At the disco? We’re signing pjanic in the summer?
