Trouble is at the moment none of them seem to want him.Eriksen only wants to join about 5 clubs. It’s not that more should be in for him, it’s that he only wants to join Europe’s elite.
If Juve, Barca, Real, maybe Bayern, don’t come in for him, he’ll sign.
IMO, anyway.

Unhappy that we haver a player who doesnt make us hes first choice not a good example to others.

Dont blame him at all . Hope he goes just dont want us to be sloppy secondsHe been with us 6 years, been an amazing player and some would say the most important player in these years for our team. He has dreamed of Spain & Real Madrid/Barcelona all his life - now he wants it because of football reasons? Do you really blame him? Sometimes we as supporters need to understand the player as well. Especially Eriksen who's such a nice guy.
I don’t agree. I see your point, but knowing Eriksen’s character he’ll be 100% committed if he signs.Trouble is at the moment none of them seem to want him.

Worth mentioning that Eriksen may only be 27 but he's played at a high level, in a pressing game, always covering more ground than anyone else on the pitch for a good number of those years, both domestically, in Europe and internationally with 89 caps already and biannual summer tournaments. I hope it doesn't happen but he could well become one of those players who deteriorates quickly soon after he's hit 30.Re Ali Z's info. I'm convinced Eriksen's poor form last season, especially from around Xmas time onwards, put Madrid off.
It was a strange time for him to completely lose the plot, as it's probably cost him his dream move. You look at Hazard, and when Madrid were sniffing, he was putting in MOM performances every week and basically finished the season on fire. Now he's a Madrid player.
Eriksen was annonymous in most games, apart from a couple of late goals. There's no way Madrid were watching him last season and going, "yes, he's the one we are going to spend 80 million on".
Nah, Eriksen as he heads into his 30's will be the sort of player who drops deeper, like Pirlo. And like that player, probably won't be fully appreciated until he takes up that role.Worth mentioning that Eriksen may only be 27 but he's played at a high level, in a pressing game, always covering more ground than anyone else on the pitch for a good number of those years, both domestically, in Europe and internationally with 89 caps already and biannual summer tournaments. In any case, I think he tailed off this season because he's absolutely knackered and hope a good six week rest and a proper holiday will do a world of good for him.
I very much hope this will be the case.Nah, Eriksen as he heads into his 30's will be the sort of player who drops deeper, like Pirlo. And like that player, probably won't be fully appreciated until he takes up that role.
Excellent analysis though you make one fatal oversight: the emergence of Danny Rose as a box of frogs mental central midfielderI would put Eriksen's poor 2019 form down to:
1) Tiredness - he played over 4,100 minutes last year in all competitions, 2nd most in the team behind Toby (plus CE had that abdomen injury in the fall that sounded persistent). All that after getting Denmark to the WC knockout round.
2) Role change - he played deeper last year a lot more than previous years, which surely impacted his output in goals, assists, and chances created. He spent way more time collecting the ball from the CBs and shuttling it forward. I swear we ended some games with him as the only midfielder still on the pitch. All that limited the time and energy that he could apply to creating.
3) General chaos of injuries/fatigue in the rest of the team. We were missing so many key players for so many games, that we limped through some games with makeshift midfields and a lack of attacking options, limiting rapport and cohesion within the team.
I would love it if he signs a new contract, even if it has clauses that allow him to leave to one of the Spanish giants in the future. I think with some rest and a little more consistency within the rest of the team, he'll be back to his best.
