I don't think he wants to be here so I'm happy for him to leave now. Been a good servant and we need the money

You have made that all up in your head.

I have decided you are a potato, so I am happy to put you in the oven for an hour. I need root vegetables.

Unfortunately we are in an incredibly weak position with Eriksen. Clubs know we have to sell this window if we want a transfer fee but of the clubs likely to be interested they can probably all afford to hang it out until the end of the their respective windows. PL window shuts next week but the other clubs can make bids up to the end of August. If you are Real Madrid why bid now? Why not low ball a £40m offer on 30 August?

If Madrid dont bid, I know some are optimistic that Eriksen signs a new deal but equally he might be happy to wait for Juve to give him a £15m sign on fee and £300k a week next season.

In the meantime our Daniel has a dilemma particularly with a move for someone like Dybala. Realistically Dybala is only financially doable if we sell Eriksen or part exchange him with Juve. I cannot see anyway Daniel signs Dybala without a deal agreed on Eriksen. But what happens if he doesn’t push the button on Dybala but then sells Eriksen after our window has closed?

Lo Celso surely is a must buy.

An interesting week or so to come.

It’s not about money for Eriksen. He is not going to change his mind over money...
Exactly. If he doesn’t move there’s a solution for all parties where he signs a new contract protecting us with a release clause for his ideal destinations.

I believe he’d do this and already has previous for it with Ajax.

He’s not at the same point in his career where moving on a free has the same appeal as it does for say Toby.

Starts again. Rumours of new contract. Superb news if he stays. Absolutely superb. Him and GLC and Winks in the team would give us proper creativity in three different areas of the pitch and in three different ways. Marvellous

Why on earth would he do that.
That isn't a solution for all parties, just a temporary solution for Spurs, not one for Real, nor Eriksen.
He wants to join Real Madrid, why would he make it a lot harder for himself to go there, by making them pay 80m for him, rather than nothing in a few months time.
He has no reason to be sentimental to us (maybe he was to Ajax, which he considers the team that made him)
We aren't sentimental to players that we want out the door.

If RM really want him he’ll be gone this window - I doubt being available on a free is a major factor for them like it might be for other teams.

If we dont sell him during the english window we cant sell him this season. We just cant. I would be fuming if we accepted a RM bid in late august, with us with no chance of replacing him.

So what if he leaves for free next summer? We paid little for him, hes been on "low" wages" for a player of his calibre and hes certainly done a good job for us.
But by all means, i hope he signs a new deal...

I don’t think we’d even be that stupid but I wouldn’t put it past Madrid to bid for him as soon as our window closes.

Pretty much nailed my thoughts on it. Slight difference is GLC is the insurance buy in case Eriksen moves late. Dybala or similar aren't happening unless the club moves Eriksen prior to the 8th.

Toby, Rose and GKN not moving is what has thrown a wrench in the plans. They would have netted £50M, combined with Trips and VJ, that's enough to roughly cover GLC and Sess. If those three don't move then GLC coming in suddenly becomes dependent on Eriksen departing. Betis is in a much stronger negotiation positon than many assume.

Eriksen staying I think is one of the top three factors in achieving great things this season.

Ohh the 2 new users with the Eriksen hate, must have just signed up for this just to blame the guy who scored and seemed like the only one who cared after we won.
