Apologies - should have clarified - apparently he has been offered a nice big sign on and 13
Mil a year by PSG in the summer. This move would make sense to me as I don’t think Bayern would sign him, Real don’t need him and Barca don’t need him and he has already turned Utd down twice.
Cheers, figured I was missing something.

This site never seems to amaze me.
Instead of acknowledging he was the best player on the pitch, they pick out a corner kick just so they can moan. So funny ?
I don't believe these viewpoints are mutually exclusive.

Eriksen was excellent on Saturday (Ndombele was better, in my opinion, but Eriksen a close second), but his corners were (are) awful. As I said in the match thread, I can forgive a crappy corner in the last minute when he's A) played so well, and B) scored a direct free-kick.

Not his fault he's instructed to take the corners when they're nowhere near the quality he possesses.

Not sure what the point of this is.

We all know he’s very talented and that at his best he was brilliant. If we could get that player back consistently and keep him here, brilliant.

But he’s been largely average to poor for 18 months and he’s obviously leaving on a free. It’s a real shame on so many levels

Not only this, but stats were used to show how little Modric did for us, which was complete nonsense, and is referenced a lot, so I don't really see a rule change based on when stats are showing something preferential.

The problem with Eriksen in many games has been that he does nothing for 88 mins of a game, but scores or assists in the other 2 mins and that's what the flag is waved for - as another poster recently pointed out, it's the opposite of Sissoko/Aurier types. It gets quite difficult to determine the true effect of having a goal contribution versus not having a big hole in the middle of the park for most of the game.

So whilst he's created chances, scored goals and made assists, he's also disappeared a lot, wasted quite a few free kicks and corners, shyed out of tackles, and given the ball away (CL Final a good example). The biggest statistic, imo, is that we've not struggled to keep on to him over the last 7 seasons, and that will be in part due to other clubs knowing that his performances are more in line, consistency-wise, with the likes of Ozil (also on the list) rather than Silva/KDB.

Tbf we would be offering around the same in weekly wages on a new contract?? About 240pw? Fucking outright obscene. Lucky fuckers.

No clear “point”. Just some stats for the past decade.

So sorry Sherlock not to be moaning or make my post up for debate like every time.

Happy new year to you!

Been linked by the Athletic with a move to Inter. Assuming we prefer to sell rather than keep him for a top four push and lose him for nothing in the summer, I'd say that would suit both clubs really well. Inter are in a title race and this window is probably their only realistic chance to get him as bigger clubs would surely take a punt on Eriksen on a free. You could see them realistically stumping up the 40-50m that Levy is supposedly seeking for that reason, which would still be a bargain for a player of this quality and would be quite a coup for bolstering our transfer kitty as well.

Big question is whether Eriksen would accept the move there when he may prefer other suitors that would be in for him in the summer.

Yeah, the piece also says he wants to leave in January, so everything adds up. Inter might mean a short-term improvement for him - he'll be chasing a championship, not a TOP4 finish.

He's still just 27, only entering his peak years (though he played an awful lot for us), so his move to Madrid/Barcelona might still be possible for the next 2 years.

40-50 would be fantastic coup for him at this point.

He didn’t look particularly fussed today. I hope he goes this month. Him being at the club and playing whilst not wanting to sign a new contract just doesn’t feel right at all.

Is Di Marzio still considered gold standard for Italian news?

Didn't realize it was him reporting the Inter contacts.
