Have a feeling we will look back on this as our best piece of business this Summer at that fee, alongside Bissouma.
That's definitely a possibility. If not, Davies remains a solid option at LCB - which hopefully will give Lenglet plenty of motivation.

On ability alone, Lenglet can definitely become an undisputed starter very quickly. It's his confidence after a very error-prone last couple of years that is the concern. Honestly, it got to the stage at one point at Barca where you could almost guarantee he'd either give away a penalty, get a red card, or score an own goal, even if only coming on as a late sub. Hopefully the fresh start in a new environment will lead to a return of his very best form, because we'll have an elite centre-back on our hands if it does.
Well this is absolutely terrifying.

FFS !!

Every feckin thread, every feckin day. Romano this, Romano that. Can't ya just make a thread and take this bollocks there.

It's not even anything new is it, it's the same shit day on day.

I swear, if you came out for a drink with me, I'd get you nothing more than a babycham and I'd sit you next to Brian who works at the hydrographic office.

In fact, scrap that. You'd most probably bore the feck outta him as well.

O Romano, Romano, wherefore art thou Romano ?

Hopefully in his very own thread. Feck off.

Morning all. (y)

Thought we would have heard about him doing a medical today. Still feel we may be making a last minute move for another option before we confirm this one - Fonseca style

Bit weird how quiet this has gone over the weekend after DiMarzio said it was done.
Couple of sources said we were set to have a meeting today so maybe some more news will come out tonight but if not then I wonder if we’ve got other irons in the fire after all…

My take on it is we have other options and we have got this to a stage where we pull the trigger if these other options don’t come to fruition.

I’m sure it’s done just waiting to be announced. We did have ITK though that Inter were in touch again so they might be dangling Bastoni again.

I wouldn't anticipate another coming instead. I just don't see it getting to this stage if it's just an option.

This has gotta be sealed and announced by Wednesday at the latest surely, Di Marzio and Romano already said it's practically done

I reckon some of you are reading too much into it

I reckon it's as good as secured, and all parties are pretty comfortable with the situation. Lawyers/agents are just ironing out some minor details (the last 1% always takes the longest) but there's no urgent rush, and there are probably a few other deals being discussed.

I reckon he'll come in the next few days. If he doesn't, then, yeah, something else might be going on.

But honestly, there aren't LOADS of options for us who, notwithstanding his issues, have his capabilities, so I don't think we're in a position to turn our noses up to him.

If we knew we were getting Brehmer, or Torres (I've given up on Bastoni and Gvardiol), then maybe it would be different. But at this point, he's a pretty appealing 'bird in the hand' and I reckon we're going for it, it's just taking its time

Lenglet, Spence, Bremer, Maddison and Gordon would be a cracking end to the window.

Plenty of outs needed if we are targeting quality in this many areas though, good to get Bergwijn out and hopefully a few others now
