Newcastle supporting mate texted me at HT and CR was the player he singled out for praise (not having seen him play before). And given him saying anything positive about our players is a once a decade event that's no small thing.

Gives us so much on and off the ball and as others have said for a defender he gets you out of your seat with the way he plays the game.

He’s so damn fun to watch play. The way he appears to take pride in absolutely demolishing attackers, his constant running, willingness to be on the ball and make things happen and his insanely high confidence. Pure entertainment.

I love the way he's so calm with the ball under pressure too. A few times he calmly kept the ball in our own box, near onrushing Newcastle players, until a pass was on.

Compared to Sanchez it's night and day. Really helps us play out from the back.
