I actually think he’s the one of the cbs we should keep now. The others are the ones who need to go before him
There in lies the problem, he's the best of the bunch and the only one with interest for that exact reason!! So what do you do, sell him because you can regardless of his ability over others?

No - you flog the others, even for limited funds, and work with the guy

We need to get rid of the crap, even if it means less money for re-investment. At Sanchez is still young(ish).

We just need a fresh start with a lot of the squad. They're from a previous era with some extraordinarily bad managers

I'd keep Davinson as 4th choice if he was happy to stay, but Monaco would be a decent move for him. If we sold him for say £8-10 and bought Tosin for £15-18m that would be good business IMO.

From what we've seen I'd keep Dav, we don't need the money we have £100m. Get rid of Dier first if we want to sign anyone else. Either way after seeing VDV there's no point in a player like Tosin. Sign someone with Raw pace to play 4th string and someone with upside.

No point signing Tosin who will become next year's Dier.

Dier will be hard to get to move, he is comfy and only has a year left.

Dav is in the last year of his contract, so unless you want him given an extension, he’s not really part of the Postecoglou rebuild, he’s just filling in. Let him go, especially if he wants to go, and bring in someone for the next five years. This “we can’t sell a limited player until we sell other more limited players” is a trap.

Do we have an extension option on his contract? If not I struggle to see us turning an offer of 8–11 mil down as I just can’t see us offering him a new one and his current one runs out next summer.

If he wants to play in the next year I'm sure he will. Time to make it clear to players like Dier that they aren't going to be in the squad and need to find a club. He doesn't seem money motivated and will have a distant ambition of being around the England squad.

He's just got married and surely wants to get onto the next phase in his life.

Just tell these players that they aren’t in the first team squad anymore, don’t register them. If they have any ambition they’ll move on. To be fair to Dier I think he would want to play. Ndombele probably not.

I'd rather keep him in the squad as a good back-up but he will likely leave because clubs are actually interested in signing him and also because of his contract situation. If we do sell him we need a new CB even more urgently than we currently do.

To be fair to Sanchez he has done well since Ange took over but we've had these mini renaissance's before. I think it's the right time to sell with 1 year left on his contract and put it towards a new CB rather than him leave on a free in a years time.

He's playing well, and seems better suited to playing in this system but if its a choice between him and a new top CB that Ange actually wants then it's a no brainer, we've got to sell.

Whether Dav has a redemption arc in his story or not I don't think he will stay even if we don't sell him. We have no leverage here

Are you thinking he just walks away?
I just don't think he will stay, he has a year left, lost 4 years of his career under Conte/Mou, and just about when we got a competent manager that plays a system he's suited to he's in the last year of his deal. Either we sell or he leaves, don't see him renewing

Somewhere there was a good player there, but he got lost in the meat grinder that was our management strategy

Tottally agree mate, very happy for him to be 4th choice CB this year.

I don't think we will sign more than 1 new other CB anyway and would 100x prefer Dav to be our 4th choice over Davies or Dier.

And yea also really like him as a person so will be happy if he finds his true form and confidence under Ange. I hated it in the AON documentary when Jose was taking the piss out of him saying he "shit himself" in the final, he was still a young player back then, way to absolutely ruin the poor lads confidence.

Can't imagine how he must have felt waking up and finding he was now working for a **** who said that about him. Add to that the treatment he's got from some of our 'fans'. I can only wish him well and hope he shuts the whole fucking lot of them up.
