Davinson Sanchez should not land in L1. Rennes made an offer of 9 M € but did not want to fight with Daniel Levy the president of Tottenham who demanded 15 M € to free the Colombian. Monaco did not want to outbid either.

So they weren't serious at all then.

I'd keep Sanchez with our high line defence if we can't get a couple of quick CBs now (which we won't). Tanganga and Dier not needed.

What makes you say that? They won't pay the fee we are demanding, that doesn't mean they weren't serious.
Looking like another case where the clubs valuation and the markets is different which has been a massive contributing factor to where we are now

Because they weren't anywhere realistic in their offer and weren't willing to negotiate, €9 million? Ridiculous.

Why ridiculous? He has one year left on contract, we need to sell players and there appears no one else knocking down the door to take him.
We can value him whatever amount we like but if someone isn't willing to pay that then our valuation is wrong.

Ridiculous because €9 million is ridiculously low, there's a difference between a difference in valuation and just lowballing and that was then compounded by their failure to engage in negotiations, it was clearly just a cheeky opportunistic try on.
Ultimately he's worth more than that to us for this season if he stays.

I cant see him going now unfortunately.

Forest have signed a centre back and we are turning down perfectly decent bids from France. I'm just amazed he wants to stay really and isnt pushing to go.

We need 4 cbs. Tanganga gone, Dier can't play this system. The solution isn't to sell Sanchez and leave ourselves with no backups.

Olivier Cloarec announces that the Stade Rennes transfer window is closed! The Davison Sanchez file would have collapsed, the discussions are over with Tottenham, the central hinge of Rennes will not move!

Levy really should hve accepted that
It depends fully on who we have coming in, if any. As it stands right now, relatively speaking Sanchez is our best back-up defender.

With no disrespect to Dier or Davies who have both been wonderful servants to the club, neither can cut it in a high-line defence.

I’d replace him with tosin, but imvho I’ve never thought Sanchez was good enough.

Tosin would likely be an upgrade but it sounds like he only wants to go to Monaco and not us. My point is, if we can't secure Sanchez replacement we will need Sanchez to play for us. Romero and VDV cannot and will not be available to play every game.

Sanchez and PEH are in the preferred rotation so available but not for knockdown prices.

Different situation for GLC and Dier, who should be readily available including for loan (but need replacing if their counterpart above also leaves).

And then we know who the excess to squad full stop players are.
