I don't think he was diabolical at all. Certainly not as progressive as Porro but 3 crosses were dangerous if someone would actually have bothered to attack them.

Sofascore actually gave him a 7.6 so I think you're being a bit hyperbolic.
The one he put in for Davies should have been an equaliser

Really surpised deki’s thread wasn’t bumped today as he was crucial in three of our goals.

1) Great break through villas lines to set up saar in the first counter.

2) fantastic to disposses the villa player playing out from the back when we went 2-0

3) great assist for sonny’s goal.

He is one of those players who always looks languid but runs for the whole 90 and is so dangerous. That being said, even with his amazing contribution, there is still sooo much more he could do with better decision making, eg should have passed to son right at the start of the second half instead of hoofing it into the stands. There were also a fair few other chances for him to deliver a better final ball into the area.

You gotta feel a little bit for him,, he’s just not got the ideal body shape for a winger, if he was quicker he’d be one of the best in the world, without a doubt. He’s got everything else, he just misses the silk that comes with that extra bit of speed

He's a strange one. There are definitely moments when he's in a good position where he makes the wrong call and nothing comes out of a promising attack. These moments stick in our minds.

But then you look at the number of chances he creates and how hard he works, it's just not always that noticeable.

I still think he’s a kdb mkII, if memory serves me right kdb was playing wide for Chelsea when they originally got hold of him and he was about the same age

Yep much better from him today very good performance a solid 8/10 influential in a lot of our goals and good moves and unlucky to not get one himself.

He’s a strange one, clearly very effective yet seems he could do a lot more, doesn’t really fit the template of what you want from a winger, I like him central but he has faults when he plays there too, very good player but I’m not sure where he fits in best

Yeah, my Argentine commentators had him in the MOTM conversation, but then they do sing every time someone scores…

Love him but want to see him feature as an 8 more. We don’t have winger depth at the moment so it makes sense for him to feature at RW for now but I think he’d be a machine playing where Sarr did today. Competition for that spot will be good for Pape.

His decision making is inconsistent, and can take too long to release the ball too often... but I can honestly say that's an issue with quite a few players in the squad.

But his importance in build up and ball retention is huge. He's a big lad, very strong, and has almost elastic close control. He can always get that ball inside defenders and cut it back or get a shot in.

Exactly this.

There are so many areas where he can and should improve yet he's already a match winner. Another two seasons under Ange and he could well be genuine world class.

His decision making has room for improvement but that's a bit harsh after his contribution yesterday. I just want him to get the ball into the box earlier on occasion or pull the trigger when it's clear he has a shot. He's a £75m minimum player now but there's so much more in there

I think he’s fine without it. I suppose every player would benefit from having additional pace, but I don’t think he needs it, it’s not really what his game is about.

He reminds me a bit of Kane in that respect, he doesn’t have much natural pace to glide past players but he’s strong, skilful, has great control and brings a bit of craft and guile to the team.

His biggest asset is his strength. Like the Moose, he almost dribbles through players, rather than round them. And he enjoys nicking the ball, so defenders never get a chance to rest.

For me you have to keep him on if possible because he can pull something out of the bag. But also his work rate has ways been top level. His press for the first goal and his assist for Son's was perfectly placed.
