Agreed, also he played often in a two in a old skool box to box 4-4-2 system, he rarely played as a strict DM

I can't ever remember him playing as a DM. He always seems to play further forward than other midfielders such as Hamann, Alonso or Mascherano.

It would do everyone well not to compare him with anyone to be honest. Even saying he's like our Frank Lampard is incredibly premature. Dele has immense potential and is having a wonderful season, in addition to last year obviously, but Lampard hit double figures for goals TEN years in a row! Yes he took penalties, and yes it seemed like 80% were deflected but that's incredible for a midfielder.

Let him do his thing and continue to improve without doing what seems to be the norm for any young player (and especially an English one) and build them up to a superstar too early.

He's absolutely at the right club, with the right teammates, with the right facilities and most importantly the right manager for his development.

Was his later years after he was crocked, and his mobility was gone. He played at CB too, but was shit. He's a prime example of a player, playing to much too young. Having said that in his prime he was awesome, had the ability but also the mentality to deal with it, how no England manager could manage to put both him and lampard in a successful team is beyond me. All they had to to was look at something else other than 4-4-2.

The Times linking him with Munich today. It's almost like the papers take a turn each week to link him with another club. I suspect it will be juventus next week.

Anyway the interesting bit of the article but probably as bullshit as the rest of the article is that it says we won't let any players leave until after they've played a year in the new stadium.

Probably just guessing, but wouldn't surprise me. By that time it will be clearer whether we can match their ambitions. Also, call me in cynic, but if ENIC are thinking of selling the club once the stadium is built and the club will arguably be at it's optimum value, having all of our best assets still here is vital for them.

Cynic? No, I'd call you a realist.

We're talking about 2.5 years into the future. By that point, it might be difficult to convince any of our players to leave. If we don't sell any key players, our current team is only going to improve in the meantime. Most of our current squad will be hitting or edging closer to their prime and those who are currently in their late 20s will still be going strong. We are already within touching distance of silverware.

Yeah hopefully that's how it pans out(y). We need to win a trophy though soon I think. It's been too long and these players need to learn how to be winners and know that they can do it at Spurs.

That chip to set up Harry Kane's goal against West Brom was cheeky and brilliant. This sums up the player.

Someone needs to make a video of his performance against Boro. Didn't get much of a mention on here but the kid was fantastic. Really starting to bring a level more control to his game rather than just sporadic moments of brilliance.

Dele is brilliant and we really are lucky to have him, he has so much confidence and self belief which is vital to a young player. He had a brief period at the start of this season where teams were obviously marking him tighter but he has figured that out and is once again by far and away the best youngster in the league.

No other young player comes close to the level of Dele, and if he continues to improve he could be the best English player I have seen in my lifetime!

He is one of those players that when we are all old we will be telling our grandkids about. Same with Kane.

Can't quite believe we somehow managed to get the two most talented English players of a generation in our team.

We owe that to our scouting and our coaching/nurturing of young players, that's definitely no fluke.

I'm convinced that any young player who has the right attitude will be very lucky to play for Tottenham.
