The story about Madrid is rubbish. John Cross is on talksport now, talking about the move, lots of "I feel", "I think", "Maybe in a few years". Its just made up bollocks to gets clicks and sell papers.

Precisely. Alli scores two goals on Sunday... Monday is too soon but there's space to fill on Tuesday with a completely invented "story". The news cycle demands it. Everything about this particular story reeks of creative writing.

Said it earlier in this thread but the boy is something special. Watching that highlights video of what he has done in 18 months of premier league football is amazing considering he is still only 20 years old! There are a few amazing young players in world football at the minute, and Alli is well and truly part of that group.

He has the potential to become one of England's greatest players I truly believe that.

Knew it would only be a matter of time before these stories started. At this stage I'm willing to believe it's the fevered dreams of journalistic click baitery. But let's be honest with ourselves, the rich clubs will be circling around him before to long. He's a massive talent, and he's only going to get better imo. As a club we are going to be very lucky to keep hold of him in the coming years. We know the score on this one don't we? None of you are naive enough to think he's not going to get his head turned sooner or later are you?

We have a bright future, and so does he, let's just hope we can keep hold of him long enough to achieve something good together.

He'll probably have his head turned in a couple years, but I'm not overly concerned about that because that means that he's doing well by us. Bayern, Real, or Barcelona will hover and we'll do well to fend them off, but if it happens, then it happens.

No way he goes to a club in England, though. Not a chance.

Real Madrid is the only club who he fits their profile of, Barca and Bayern tend to buy technically more rounded players.

I think all of our key players will be here until the new stadium is up and running. If, a season or two after that we can't match their ambitions then they will most likely be off. Even Kane.

Reeks of Chelsea news cheese to me. For sure they love this today!

I think Alli has a good head on his shoulders. He started off at MK Dons. Not a fashionable club and not a Premier League club. He was playing men's football at 18 and excelling in League 1 which is far more dogged and requires steel which an academy environment doesn't give. That gives him the edge which others his age typically don't get until 20/21.

He then came to Spurs ahead of others because we were in his words the best club to best further his development. When everything is on the up here, why would you want to leave? Maybe the picture changes in a couple of years but the grass isn't always greener.

And a more pertinent factor is you only need to look at Isco who is being constantly linked with us to know a young player going to Madrid isn't a wise idea. They're a final destination club.

Alli won't be going anywhere for quite a while. To use an American term, he's our "franchise quarterback" as Kane is our "Franchise wide receiver". I.e. They're the faces of the club and who the team is built around.

I agree about the kinds of players each team tends to buy, but I think Dele is quite technically gifted. I think that Barcelona is the least likely to be interested since I don't think he fits their profile as well, though his technical skills may come around in the next couple years...and that's something I quite expect.

Wow.

The only midfielders to reach 20 Premier League goals quicker than Dele Alli (52 games) are Rafael van der Vaart (44) and Matt Le Tissier (50)
