He played in a CM2 for MK Dons...
The games I watched of MK dons, it was more of a 3 man CM, Yes there was 2 man DM/CM with another AM/CM further forward but they were quiet fluid and ended up swapping positions. However the AM/CM(that was further forward did drop back deep to help the other 2 out when defending
The kid is a natural finisher, he's just got that quality of timing his runs into the box at the right time, and is calm as you like when putting it away. It's like goldust, that.

The rest of his game will need work if he's going to play in a CM 2. But that's what we pay Poch and his team for. Very heartned to hear in the pre-season stuff on the website that he and Nabil were pushing each other hard as the frontrunners in all the fitness and endurance tests. Poch will like that, for sure.
At the moment I don't think he is ready to do well in a pochettino CM2, which lets be honest isn't really working that well

this pre season will be a lot better for Poch to get his ideas across and have all his players, last year we had a massive squad to assess and starting from scratch hopefully he will have learned a lot and will be able to put his ideas forward better. Fingers crossed.

Many will be very surprised on how good Dele Alli is!

All I will say is very pleasantly surprised. Knew about him from age of 14.

Yeah, in League 1. He's going to be up against bigger, faster, more intelligent and experienced players in the PL. He'll have to learn alot quickly...
he is probably starting out as Europa/Cup player, with opportunities off the bench in the PL.

I haven't noticed Dele Alli in any of the recent preseason training pics and i dont think he was in the the southend friendly either. Is he injured?

Dier suggested he was turning heads in the endurance tests - perhaps a case of shielding him from attention and getting him focused for new season. I can see him pushing Mason for a place come Man U unless we sign McCarthy/Rabiot/Other

My QPR supporting mate has a few contact at his club, reckons that Ramsey is keen to take Alli if we'll put him out on loan. Told him that from what I gather he's going nowhere. First team participation was a condition of him picking us, wasn't it?

Agree, almost like a Dembele on form but with a much better finish, some say a young Gerrard. We could have a winner on our hands here, and hopefully he'll be nurtured just right and not thrown in at the deep end too early because at the moment he's got confidence. Certainly cup games for starters, maybe even EL group stages too. Then if all goes well perhaps introduce him to the bench after Xmas.

I dont think he will start the season as a first teamer but will almost certainly be used from the bench and hopefully will get a lot of opportunities to impress in the cups. If he comes on and tears it up then yeah he could end the season as a first team starter. All the early reports coming out of the club are very positive about him and I am really excited to see him play for us.

I think he'll get time in the EL to begin with, like a couple of the other best youngsters and those who impress will get EPL time

We could have a useful EL team next season, be fucking funny if the kids/second string got us into the CL whilst the 1st team didn't !

Would he be able to form a partnership with nabil? How is he defensively?

I always get the feeling that Bentaleb holds himself back even though he wants to go forward. He's not a natural anchor in midfield and I feel the only way Alli and Bentaleb would work would be with a natural DM behind them in a 3

In response to "Will Alli be in the reckoning for the first team?"

That is a certainty. The noises are he has been shockingly brilliant, and not just good.
