This is more detailed stat comparison of Udogie vs Sessegnon vs Perisic from last league seasons
Its so blatantly obvious, how lacking is Sessegnon. Udogie fairs much better in ball retention, progression etc Crossing accuracy is also better than Perisic

I'd rate Sessegnon so much higher if he went by 'Kouassi' instead of ‘Ryan’.

Kouassi sounds like a swashbuckling, all action wing back with pace and power.

Ryan sounds like a milquetoast bloke who reads the Financial Times.

I mean we have 3 Lwb now. Made sense if we got him then loaned him out. But we are so overstocked at FB with 3 in each position.

What exactly is the special talent you see here? I've also watched a a ten minuteb highlights package and this clip v Chelsea and while I can see his physical qualities, i didn't see anything extraordinary.

Looks like he does most things well, but does he have explosive place? Can he beat his man with trickery and skill? Can he deliver delicious crosses right into the mix? He looks tidy no doubt but is he exceptional?
He’s 18….

I know and officially be looks terrific. I'm sure he's a great prospect and hopefully becomes a fantastic player. I was asking what the poster saw that makes him looks exceptional.

Gareth Bale was 18 when we signed him too. And was miles behind this guy physically. But ability wise you could see his exceptional talent.

Yes
Adept at taking the ball on half turn and great positional awareness, uses space well.
Yes

Whilst we all can get carried away with the Bastoni's of this world, and there's no doubting his ability.

I'd like to add, that Udogie is also thought of as one of the top young talents in Italian football.

Modern day WB, strong, explosive burst of pace, good spatial awareness given his age, great regarding the press, creates chances, tackles well.

Now consider his age, the fact that he's doing this in Serie A, but in a mediocre team.

I personally think we've snaffled a star in the making if we were indeed to pull this off.

Reckon a fair few fans of other clubs will be asking "wow, who the feck is their left wing back" in the not too distant future.

A star under the radar.

Likey.

We remember a different Bale. Bale, who went on to being one of the best players in the world (some bar you’re setting) looked better technically at that age, but he was also RAPID right from the off.

‘Miles behind physically’ just isn’t right, and even he took his time to settle with us

He completed more dribbles with a higher success rate than Perisic. He’s technically strong, can score goals, decent passer and is quick and powerful. He’s hasn’t got huge burst of pace ability but is quick crossing needs to be worked on but I’m sure he’ll improve a lot there. He’s very good all round, and is very advanced and developed for an 18 year old, (may have just turned 19)
