I don’t feel like people understand how good Udogie is. He had a tough start but had the mental fortitude to dig deep and put in a really good display against the best winger in the league.

Did really well after a nervy start getting booked v a lively Saka (who is better than people give him credit for). Say it every week, but only 20 years of age. Him and VDV will hopefully be our left side of defence for years to come.

We had to see a lot more of the other side of his game today and I think he did well. Even when Neville was panicking I never felt he was in that much danger. You will always lose some moments up against Saka. How many real chances did they get on that side though? I love his ability to carry the ball out of tight situations, we must have our most press resistant team in a long time now.

People were worried after the yellow, even saw some noise for Davies but he flipped the script and was one of our best players (again). I think he worked out Saka after 35 mins, and wasnt really a threat after that.

He is undoubtedly one of the best young players in the world. Saka is absolutely top class and no doubt U'dogie struggled a bit with him early on and then got booked. After this though he put on an incredibly mature performance. He was majestic. It's actually hard to believe how good he is.

I thought he did well considering how isolated he was on that side. The tactics didn't help him today.

Maturity beyond his years to take a grip of the game when it looked to be turning against him so early. Saka, annoying as he can be, has been ripping teams apart for a while, and got DU on the back foot very early. The booking could have got in Udogie’ ahead and see him become too passive, but he showed a real bravery to grab that duel and turn the momentum round. Looks a real gem.

Some people get it but most don’t. Read the ratings in most of the papers online. He got mostly 5, 6’s and one 7 . It’s laughable . They’ll all know soon and say he’s improved.
He is 💯 the real deal, he’s a complete full back and his ceiling is scary. Like best full back in the world scary.

This guys immense. I hope he forever gets 6s playing as he does to guarantee he stays for the next 10 years without pep or madrid looking this way.

I don’t think Pep or Madrid are looking at ratings in the paper to decide who they sign next.

Fast becoming one of my favourite players.
He is an old head on young shoulders. Could easily have crumbled when taking that yellow so early against Saka, and then being at risk of a red, but he showed great resilience and controlled aggression for the rest of the game. Saka won’t relish the idea of playing against him again.
What a find!.

If he was at City or Madrid everyone would be talking about how he's an £80m+ player already.

A new club, new teammates, a new league, a new manager, a new system, a new role. And yet he instantly looks like he's played in the PL for years.

I feel sorry for how Sessegnon's time with us has gone, but there's absolutely no comparison between the two.

And I don't just mean physically or skillwise. Mentally, Udogie just has it. What a signing. More of those please.

Absolutely this. What I don't know is how much has he benefitted from the system and the new "take risks and I've got your back" mentality.

He has that calmness on the ball that usually comes towards the end of the career - see Perisic now, not this early.

Feels like one of those players you could play in a bunch of positions and he'd do you proud.

Both Udogie and Ange deserve credit.

Most managers would've replaced Udogie with Ben Davies in the first half or at latest at half-time, given he was on a yellow and everything was coming down their right.

For Ange to have faith in Destiny when on a booking Vs one of the best RWs in the league is a fucking massive showing of belief and faith

For Destiny to absolutely pocket Saka once he'd worked him out after half an hour, whilst on a booking and dominate the left hand side is pretty incredible.
