Phenomenal player, absolutely owns his side of the pitch.

Obviously, doesn’t get everything right all the time but absolute quality. I think player of the season will be between him, Porro and Vic. It’ll probably go to one of the flashier players but atm I’d give it to Destiny.

He has everything to be the worlds best in that position. That goes for trasditional left back too

Gets away with a lot of dodgy tackles but as you say absolute quality.

It's funny, I think that was a "poor" game by his standards. And yet, he was that good. Says a lot about him. What a talent.

He needs to be more focused/concentrated/switched on when he's not the active defender but besides that he was very good. Love him so much

I can't think of many better left-backs in world football. Alphonso Davies? Theo Hernandez? I believe he is in that conversation.

Should Theo not move in the next two or so years while he is in the beginning years of his prime, I think Destiny will be the first 100m fullback. I don't think we'll be able to keep him from a Madrid or a City forever, but I will absolutely enjoy him while he is here. An absolute phenomenon.

His recoveries against Foden were great. He is already a top player, it's scary to think how good he can be in another 3 to 4 years. Amazing bit of business getting him to sign that new deal

I thought he was Immense last night

made 1/2 small errors but even so he is strong quick and so so good
Yeah.

Think his game got worse as the game went on. High bar though as in the first 30 mins he was a monster.

Looking forward to him improving his forward play in the seasons to come.

Interesting that before this season we were told he's fantastic going forward but a work in progress when defending. I think it's the opposite - already elite defensively but quite indecisive in the final third.

What always impressed me about him is his upper body strength. I don't think I have ever seen him not come away with the ball when he uses his body to recover a ball from an opposing player. He just leans into them and they can't do anything about it because he is so strong. He did it again last night on some of the best players in Europe.

He does need to work on his composure and his passing and positioning could improve but he has so much natural ability and athleticism at such a young age it is frightening.

Funny isn’t it. I watched him a fair bit at Udinese and I think he was more decisive going forward for them. Quite a few times for us he’s had opportunities to shoot on his weaker foot for us and has hesitated, where as for Udinese he took those chances.

I saw some instances of recovery defending when he played for Udinese but obviously he was wing back and it was nowhere near the level of recovery defending he’s shown for us. Also some times where he’d track back a bit sluggishly but again haven’t really seen that for us so it was obviously a consequence of the role he had at Udinese.

Overall he is an absolutely superb player and I’ve got no doubt he will improve going forwards in the future.

First half of the season he was pretty decent going forward. I just think he needs to get used to Werner and vise versa. He has had the relationship with Son since the summer and they know each other's games. This was only Werner's second game and we weren't really on the ball. And when we did have it he and others were poor with it.

Have to remember he is still pretty young.

Yeah, I definitely think he can carry the ball for too long at times and maybe doesn't see the whole picture ahead of him quite so well yet, but he also has a reluctance to put his foot through the ball and get a strike off in situations that you think warrants it. Would love to see him become a bit more goal hungry, as it would take his game to a whole new level.

Another very good performance from the lad, so strong and quick.
If I were to find any criticism of his game last night, it would be that he was sometimes too hesitant with the quick forward pass.
There were a few times he could have released a forward runner but took a fraction too long and the chance was gone.

That's being incredibly fussy though because he really is a talented player.
