I mean, I've only seen him play once and that was vs Arsenal where he was comforably MOTM. He looked superb so I'm on board with this, particularly if it's in addition to Adama.

EDIT: Just seen he'd stay on loan at Forest for rest of season so it would almost certainly be in addition to Adama.

Neil Warnock was Boro manager at the time. He said this about allowing Spence to leave on loan:

"I let him go. He needed to sort himself out, really.

"I basically said to him that you can go to the top or you can go non-league.

"I think Steve Cooper is the manager for him, to be honest. He has let him go forward more often, which suits his game."

I’m not going to pretend I’ve seen him before (outside the Arsenal game) or know anything about him, but it doesn’t look great from the outside.

Read a couple of articles questioning his commitment and effort. He’s 21 and on loan from a championship club. And for all those worried about Traore’s statistics, Spence has 3 goals and 1 assists in 81 career games in the championship.

If it’s a cheap punt on a young player who has taken a step forward and may have the raw tools to be a good RWB, sign me up.

If it’s a Traore alternative, oh dear oh dear…

I live near Middlesbrough and play football with a lot of Boro fans. All of them were so pleased he played well in the FA Cup so his price was bumped up. None want to keep him and are happy to see him go (especially for an overinflated price).

That’s what I’m hoping this is part of. He fits the bill for that perfectly and I’m excited by the prospect of us signing these players instead of Leicester, West Ham etc.

It’s just concerning it’s also the same position we’re most in need of upgrade in the first team right now. We need this guy and a Traore. Not just Spence.

I'm not surprised if they have this Isiah Jones kid.

Let's not get it twisted, he was OUTSTANDING against Arsenal, Ally McCoist was waxing lyrical about him. That's no fluke.

Warnock said he wants to go forward more and that suits his game so he's clearly an attacking full back and that's what we need. If Warnock was trying to make him be a typical defensive full back then perhaps that was why they were butting heads.
