All players are at different ages of their development.we are not talking about a 17 year old kid, he's 22 and like skip and Sessegnon they need to play in order to develop, 28 minutes is a joke, there is no way he is going to develop with that amount of game time.
You can make all the excuses you want but as we saw he isn't this 'raw' prospect, he's not less than what we have. Sess plays consistently and he has had some absolute horrid matches
Sessegnon was 16 when he got his first start for Fulham and 18 when he got his first start in the PL. He was trusted because he had maturity and could take the coaches message on board and apply it.
Spence made his debut later than Sess and wasn't even trusted by Warnock. He only has 1 solid year behind him and would have gotten away with mistakes or not applying coaches instructions a bit more.
We are not in a position to throw a lad who is still raw, and maybe won't take the coach's instructions on board.
Imagine if he did come in and didn't do as well as people are hoping? Then what? Confidence destroyed? Conte trusts him even less so?
I coach and you absolutely have to get the timing right. An arrogant kid who has many flaws needs to be grounded for his development. A mature kid who has some confidence issues can be built up with game time.
From what Spence posts and what Warnock said about him, he may fall into the 'a little arrogant' or 'wayward' type, and there have been stories rememeber. Therefore these players need to know they have earnt the game time and know they have to do what the coach requests.
