A bit of a nothing update from Ali Gold in his loan round-up, but still a bit of news from Genoa:

Djed Spence is yet to make his debut for Genoa after heading to Italy as part of the deal that brought Radu Dragusin to north London last week. Saturday's 0-0 home draw for the Ligurian club against Torino came too soon for the 23-year-old to play a part in the matchday squad.

Genoa boss Alberto Gilardino said on Spence ahead of that game: "He didn’t do much yesterday and it’s normal when you join a new club.

"We have scheduled a training session on the pitch for him. He wants to give his contribution to the team. For his characteristics, he is a wing-back, we’ll assess his condition and he can be helpful."

I assume it was that he just arrived and had his medical for most of his first day.

Think he fits well there, Badelj and Strootman can pick a pass very well and find pacy players. Plus both are very slow in defence and once again can use fast players to help. But with him it seems to be more about attitude and discipline than talent, hope he does well there.

Genoa, what an impact of Spence: against Salernitana the fastest in the sprint​

He was one of two subs at HT when they were 0-1 down at home to Lecce. Genoa came back and won 2-1 in the 2nd half.

Hopefully a double sub to get a reaction from the players and not a disasterclass.

Tough outing for him today - appears to have been the lowest rated of the starters, and his replacement scored the winner.

But, he was not the only one hauled off at halftime. Needs to kick it up a notch.
