The championship is so poor - Norwich stomped everyone and they were absolutely battered in the premier league.

The gulf in class is mental.
Literally. Given these are meant to be the better sides it’s trash.

Spenve would need a lot of work on his moving, he’s very lazy movement wise and walks around a hell of a lot

Spence is not that good, but in all honesty, there are not many good rwb out there.

Funny thing, is I reckon Docherty is a very good rwb and I think Conte likes him.

I like what I see. By night means the finished article but think he has all the raw tools for Conte to mould.

Couple of nicely weighted passes and a decent one-two in the corner, but he is playing a bit like a man who knows he's going to be playing Premier League football next season whatever happens today.

Also, these two sides are.......not good.

I'm sure that's just the tempo of the game though. Very slow build up. He just had a nice interception pouncing on a loose ball and he's young enough to do that kind of thing over and over. Also the fitness regime under Conte will transform him.

I'm not watching but don't use this type of game to judge the quality of teams and players. Liverpool have played three finals this season and not scored but most teams would take their attackers.

The thing about the championship, and particularly Spence in this case, is defenders can improve quickly

He's got a bit of the Dele Alli feels to me. Wants to play at walking pace. Also his body language isn't great. A few times now I've seen him get frustrated with his team mates.

Not yet seeing why he'd be an upgrade.

I think if we sign him he will frustrate no end. Slows the play down far too often from what im seeing in the first half and has played a couple of really sloppy passes around halfway. Could be nerves but hasnt stood out so far today.

I can't judge his talent, but the Forest attack seems to run thru Spence. He must be their best playmaker.

That’s a good point and one that should be dropped into the conversation at every opportunity.

He's had a mixed half.

Positives: He's clearly much quicker and more direct than either Doc or Royal, and I like his attacking intent. He's always looking for the one-two and trying to get behind. He also made one great interception and run that led to maybe Forest's most promising attack.

Negatives: His first touch isn't the best and he's had a couple of sloppy moments. Also hasn't really been busting a lung to get back and cover defensively - something he'd never get away with under Conte. Crossing a mixed bag but very small sample size against a largely set defence.

Obviously can't judge too much on only the 2 or 3 matches I've seen, but certainly looks like he has the raw tools to be a top wing back. Will depend on his capacity and willingness to work and improve under Conte, though - if he's hungry to succeed and gives it everything I think there's big potential there. If not he'll get found out in the prem very fast.

Will be interesting to see how he looks now Forest are ahead as Huddersfield have been sitting so deep he hasn't had any space to run into. They're bound to open up a bit more in the 2nd half and give him some space to work with.

I can definitely see that he has real ability. Could quickly become a big upgrade, I think……..if he buys into Conte’s coaching.

Hard to judge him on one half of football or even a few games but i do agree hes looks a long way off from being a player you'd want as a starting rwb for a team that wants to challenge for trophies. He does have something about him but looks fairly raw still
