Yeah I find it quite weird how people doubt him. He does a good job keeping us informed. If fans listened to his whole broadcast rather than snippets on aggregators then they’d realise he usually quantifies what he says as he had to explain in his tweet just now. He also says it is still not completed though with Romano following suit.

FWIW I wasn't doubting him, just pointing out he's not a direct link to the top brass just because he's in the same part of the world. He's no better than any of the other more informed journalists, and jumps on the twitter gravy train just like they do from time to time. A lot of these journalists sources are each other, that's how they cover such a wide field. How do I know this because I've seen snippets from the whatsapp group they are all involved in, and of course he gets his own stuff as well.

The timing of this feels about right. Once we could not get the deal done to take him to Korea, it felt like both clubs would take a step back and reassess. Now, get the deal done, so that Spence can get a physical done, and some preliminary pre-season work in time for the squad to return. He won't be too far behind, and once he catches up on the suicide runs, he should be able to integrate fully with the squad in time for the final 2 pre-season games.

Many think there are quite a few better options, but I disagree and have for a while. I’ve said it for over a month, that he’s one of my top 3 realistic options for the position. The absolute perfect physical profile. Has the ideal mentality and personality on the pitch for a young player. Steps up when the competition gets tougher, which is why the biggest thing I disagree with is that when people say it’s a big risk given the step up in competition. I think it’s hugely underrated how much his ball carrying will help us. A take on machine at wingback like Spence is; it’s a major weapon. Aggression off the ball with his defensive actions and attacking runs. Needs to develop a whipped and/or lofted cross. He doesn’t need the full array because he is fantastic at creating space for himself. But, low driven crosses and cutbacks aren’t enough, and I’m gonna be the first to say that. That’s all he’s good at in terms of his final ball at this point. Not consistent enough with other techniques. If he does improve this, he becomes the complete player in his role. For the now, I do think his attacking aggression is a great complement to Perisic’s pure quality of delivery and decision making. Think he’ll thrive attacking the box when he or Son have the ball wide left.

Watched quite a lot of Forest’s games and this lad is very talented. He’s very, very good in one on one situations defensively and in attack. Has so much pace and power, he defends a little like van Dijk. In the sense that you think “come on, put the after-burners on” but he doesn’t need to. He steps across to cut out crosses with ease. Certainly in the championship anyway. Interesting to see if he gets caught out in the PL but he has all the attributes to be an outstanding wing back.

Indeed I was never overly keen on the player because there are better out there imo. That said I now understand why we have kept on it, and it now makes a lot of sense. Anyway as much as I wasn't keen it looks like it's pretty close(Caveat Gibson) so lets hope he can make the step up.

What is it that have changed your mind if i may ask?
Have you seen him play (replay from last season) or something else ? (No need to tell then)

For me, someone who haven't seen that much of him isn't convinced he will make us that much better but I hope I'm wrong !

Def feels like Bastoni is the play and we are happy to wait incase he becomes available. Be interesting to see what AM links pop up now if we really have managed to finalise Spence. I’m still won’t believe this is actually done until I see the press shots.

Quite surprised we haven't moved on by now. I wonder if there's a non-HG midfielder that we really like so we'd rather persist with Spence than go for the foreign RWB and Maddison (or similar) double-up.

All the talk of us not really wanting him so badly seems like bluster to me. I get the impression either Conte really likes him, or really likes the foreign AM Spence would allow us to bring in.
