Yep. Plus if he’s doing the medical all the numbers must be finalised, which is good news.

I have never heard him speak so looking forward to the interview and hearing what he says about coming and how his role has been explained to him.

Only obvious one is Reguilon being left out of our tour. I can see us keeping 5 actually. Spence is still raw and Sess has his injury record. It would make sense to have extra cover. If we keep Doherty and Emerson then if Spence does struggle then we're still covered. If Spence takes off we could sell one of Doherty or Emerson in Jan.

Quite excited by this signing. It's the kind of good, HG transfer Spurs built a reputation on in the early 00s under Levys early stewardship. Looking forward to see what he has to offer the team over the next few seasons.

This has gone on for so long that I'm struggling to get excited about it, which is silly as he looks like a great prospect.

I guess it wouldn't be summer without a protracted Spurs transfer saga.

Joking aside, I think because we got a lot of key moves done early the pressure's off and the club feel they can wait for the deal they want. If we have got Spence for an initial 12.5m then that's a good deal for us I think.

Maybe Rebecca Caplehorn tied up the last pieces on the deal for Spence, she is Director of Football Administration and Governance

I'm not saying there's a pattern or anything but, assuming Spence goes through, Spurs will have signed four players from English clubs this summer, all of whom played one game against Arsenal last year, which, in each and every case, they won.

Spence kept a clean sheet in Forest's 1-0 FA Cup win against Arsenal. Forster kept a clean sheet in Southampton's 1-0 win against Arsenal. Richarlison scored in Everton's 2-1 win against Arsenal. And Bissouma had a jolly good laugh (probably) after Brighton's 2-1 win at the Emirates. To note, Forster, Richarlison and Bissouma didn't play when their teams drew, lost and lost the other games with Arsenal.

Not that this means anything in itself necessarily. But it's quite nice to drop into conversation with Arsenal-supporting friends...

Reguilon was left behind from the tour sp probably on his way out. PLus with 5 subs, and Doherty and Perisic coming back form injury and being older, having 5 WBs (with PErisic and Doherty able ot cover both flanks) is probably sensible.
