Really think the future for him will be elsewhere but he really could be an excellent right centre back in a back 3 I think he lacks the dynamism to be a full back in the modern game and technical skills
I hope his future isn't elsewhere, every elite club needs a utility player (o'shea at man utd, milner at man city and Liverpool), and his done a great job at it for us

Yeh, sadly though I think he’s a player that will get a lot interest in Serie A, La Liga etc and don’t think he would want to be just a utility player

honestly thought it was one of his better games with Spurs shirt. not as a CB, but overall. extremely composed, good in possession, several key duels won backing other players. good in the air too, they lumped it forward multiple times looking for the second ball off poor CB headers but he did better than usual in that department too.

Ange on Emerson:

"Eme has been great. We've put him in there and we've had no choice about it," said Postecoglou. "He's been outstanding. He's another one who's just got the best attitude in terms of just 'ask me what to do and I'll do it'.

I just love the guy tbh. Players like him and Ben are great strings to any squad's bow.

I know some people are very anti-Royal, but I think he’s shown his versatility this season in being able to play RB/LB and even CB in a pinch. Also he’s a brilliant dressing room presence.

A player of his standard that is somewhat ok with being a squad player is very hard to come by, so I would be hard pressed to sell him unless it’s well above his market value.

Well well, this is a turn around, didn’t think I would say this but it would need to be bloody good offer to sell him now.

Might be unpopular but if it was good money £25-30m I’d do a deal, he’s a decent versatile player but as a RB he’s a fair bit behind what Porro can do on the ball and with full backs are massive to how we play I think it’s important to have good depth.

However it being January and probably no RBs on our list available it probably wouldn’t be wise to move him on.

I can’t see us entertaining any bids this window unless they are well above our valuation. Emerson has featured in 18 games for us this season - starting more than half of those.

He's been a reliable player for us in multiple positions and a positive influence in the dressing room.

I'm not selling for £25-£30m.

We don't need to make extra work for ourselves, also, we don't win anything, a player better than Royal isn't going to sit on the bench to win nothing and only get cameo work.

Not this window unless they offer silly money. We've no RB cover and Emerson can deputy for three positions across the back line.
