Curious my self, in the videos i have seen, he looks just as "wild" when it comes to defending, not sure about his ability going forward. Aurier get alot of hate, but going forward he is our best right back, it is just his stupid and wild tackles we need to improve.

Tottenham are in talks with Barcelona over a deal for right-back Emerson Royal. The Catalans are desperate for money and Tottenham hope to take advantage as they look to bring in a new right-back.

Not sure what you’ve been watching, or if you’ve even been watching the right player, but he is the opposite of awkward on the ball. He has a very deft touch and more guile than a RB should have. Also has a very good end ball into the box and is capable of beating his man.
Think there’s a hint of racism in this, as he doesn’t really play at all like either player. He’s got some similarities to Reguillon albeit he uses his skill on the ball more than his pace.
Overall the concern will be the defensive side of his game. Not that he’s a bad defender, but he’s more of a RWB than a RB and of course any defender coming from Spain to the PL has a level of risk in how they will adapt.

We have Tanganga though, and I have faith that he can nail down that aspect of the role. A more attacking RB in Emerson gives us more options even if his defending is more lacking in comparison (I don't actually know- maybe his defending is top notch!)

I mean of course he can defend, Barcelona aren’t a team who go round signing defenders who can’t defend. I personally think having the option for a more defensive RB (Tanganga) and a more offensive right back (Emerson) is exactly the right thing to do, like we have Davies and Reguillon on the left.

And yet he won two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and one Supercopa in 3 seasons with them. He’s had one bad season in the PL playing for a team that by their recent standards had a bad season. Yes it may be that he turns out not to be a good PL defender but he certainly wasn’t shocking when winning silverware at Barca.
