Never had doubts about him, he's a decent player. Think I prefer more technical players like Tomiyasu but it's nice to have someone who is dependable defensively for a change. Wish we could find someone like Cucurella (except a RB) but he will do.

Utterly ridiculous that so many were writing him off already. Still a long way to go, but he's showing he's not the shit waste of money many were saying.
It's fascinating how many people are expecting a young player coming to a new league and country to immediately hit the ground running. With the recruits this summer I'm definitely willing to give them at least a season before judging them.

Yeah and play in a severely depleted spurs team against Zaha. He’s made a fool of a lot of defenders.

Looked good from what i see of him. Right back has been a disaster since Kyle Walker left. I hope he's the real deal long term

He seems to me to be very much a no-nonsense type player. He may not dazzle but he’ll be very dependable. He’ll do his job and not get caught up in what he thinks his teammates should or should not be doing, and if he’s unhappy with someone, he’ll save it for the dressing room. That’s only from his demeanor and body language, but that’s the vibe I get.

The best right fullback we have had since Walker. Good quick feet. Takes no nonsense from the opposition and not afraid to get forward. Plus he doesn’t seem to have the brain farts both Walker and Aurier suffer from.

Anything negative about the guy is a bit premature. The guy is 22, has loads of talent and is playing in the EPL for the first time. He looks so far to be a solid, dependable player who can play week in and week out. What the ceiling is, who knows but everything points to a player to keep for years to come as it solves a historical problem for a specific position.

Looking like a very astute purchase by Pratici. I assume shows his worth and the quality of his connections in the game.

Have been regretting not getting Tomiyasu since he signed for them. Yesterdays performance showed that it might not be a mistake.

It's too early to say how it will work out with any of the new players- but yesterday at least he was good.
Long may it continue

Seems very dependable and competent even if there's a lack of flamboyance yet. I like him.

He looked really good. I quite liked that in some situations he knew when to take the safe option and just put it out of play instead of giving the ball away and leaving us in a vulnerable spot.

I liked the way he stood up his man on the edge of the box before knocking it to his right and fizzing a cross in.

I think a lot of the angst about Tomiyasu is due to the fact that our passing on him made him available to sign for Arsenal. I think if we had signed Tomiyasu instead and Emerson then went to Arsenal, we'd get the same kind of angst on here.
