I’m so happy for him, he must be doing loads of work on the training pitch, he’s improving game by game.

Very good in last 2 games, still think that Conte will want to sell him but with proper preseason he could be decent.

Was solid again tonight. Contributed throughout to a fully committed, dominating team performance. Good lad!!

Pretty solid defensively again and good energy.

Anybody think he still has a place in our squad as a defensive RWB and perhaps as cover for Romero at RCB?

I'm starting to feel he has the attributes to play RCB - Good heading, strong in the tackle, inconsistent with holding the line sometimes but he usually defends long balls into the box very, very well.

I was guilty of criticising him in the match thread. I shouldnt have but it was frustrating whenever he got the ball... anyways...it can wait till tomorrow :)
Totally different reacting to an individual moment and that’s what the thread’s for. He did play one pass directly at an Arsenal player under no pressure but we were winning 3-0 so I just chuckled.

You can't fault his effort and commitment, plus defensively he was solid enough (mostly nullified Martinelli).

But going forward, he's so limited, which is a big problem because due to his positioning in the final third, it's obvious that Conte sees his WBs as important attacking players too.

Tbh, I think he'd be a great 'defensive' RB in a mid table PL side.

Yeah I've been thinking the same. He's a bit like Davies at wing back, good at defending but lacks pace and end product in attack.

I remember that pass and I was just ranting and swearing. I do sometimes think whether what he sees is very different to what others see and he cant see the guy int he red shirt in front of him

Very good tonight. Still not the best going forward but he tries his heart out and has followed up one great performance with another.

Brilliant again tonight. Very good performance.
Not sure about brilliant but he’s certainly improving which is no great surprise as he needed time to adapt to a new role and team and manager and league etc.

Physically he’s perfect for wing back, technically he needs to improve on his passing, crossing and shooting.
