Unfortunately social media hatred has found it's way into the crowd as well in the case of Emerson.

I have been going to Spurs for over 45 years and no way is Emerson even in the worst 20 players that I have seen over that time.

He is limited in an attacking sense but defensively he is quite sound and importantly he gives 100 per cent each time he plays. Sure he misplaces some attacking passes but at least he tries them. If someone disrespects the shirt, makes it clear that they don't want to play for us or is plain lazy then maybe booing is justified but not in this case.

I imagine Royal will be quite happy to leave us if he can and no doubt we will then see him in a good European Team doing well.

PS whilst it may not mean what it used to he has also played for Brazil 7 times!

Chelsea or another ambitious club would say move or we don’t register you for the 2nd half of the season. It’s harsh but it’s what is needed.
Give me a recent example of a team doing that to a regular squad member? Interested to know who you are thinking about.

Agree. I've seen miles worse. He's shit but not David Kerslake, Noe Pamarot shit.

I mean, Arsenal threatened it with the likes of Ozil and the rest they got out. I’ve nothing against him but we need to move on and get someone in fit for purpose at playing as a wingback.

It’s not his fault, it’s the club’s for buying him! (Very recently) He should be allowed to hang around the squad if he wants to. The club should take the loss and move on.

to be fair... i am surprise that he isn't a key player in the team.

he has everything Conte looks for in a wing back, strong on the ball, loves to get forward, gets in the box, and isn't afraid to take a shot now and then.

I just think he is a tad unlucky.

you need a bit of luck as a player, and i feel he just isn't catching any breaks.

i think its magnified, with Romero doing so well next to him, and Perisic as well in the opposite position.

its easy for me to say, but i feel he knuckles down and works on his final ball, he could be a world class player.

He's not the solution, of course not, but I do feel dreadfully sorry for him. The effort is there, so it's not his fault really. I think he's receiving the frustration of the fans, which we don't want to vent at Conte, because of the Spence situation.

I also think we should be realistic about the fact that he was signed as a right back and not a Conte right wing back. There's a big difference. A right back is much more defensively minded and I would say his defensive game isn't terrible.

I actually think he's got much more potential to be a RCB with the right tactical coaching than a RWB.

He's currently the number 1 in the boo boys chart. In recent past Dier, Davies , PEH, , Sanchez, have all had a stint in the ' boo chair ' but Emerson has made it his own for a prolonged period . It's pointless, pathetic, bullying and counter productive but our fans have nearly always had one or two in the ' chair' at any particular time.

if we were to sign porro, it puts us in a really weak position with emerson. he'll just end up on one of those bullshit loan with option type deals that never get taken up because clubs on the continent know the rich english clubs have no bargaining power.

thing is, clubs on the continent can find an Emerson Royal in their academy. It’s not like he has any particular skill set that is unique. Still can’t quite believe that we bought him regardless of if it was to be a RB or a RWB. Barcelona must still be laughing now.

If we struggle to ship 1 of Doherty/Emerson, then I don’t see how we can fork out for another RWB.

This isn't NEW. He said it the other day in his YouTube summary.

His advisors might not want him to move but i'm pretty sure if he's told we're bringing in another RWB and he's unlikely to see much game time for the rest of the season he will weigh up his options.
