I am happy to keep Forster as the back-up keeper. But we need someone who is going to step in as the number 1 next season.

Would be happy for Forster to be #1 moving into the 2023/24 season.

Providing we sign a younger keeper with a view to them transitioning into the #1 the following season.

Much like we did with Lloris.
That’s not really what we did with Lloris, he just didn’t go straight in because Friedel was in solid form and had the record for consecutive PL games so dropping him was more consequential than it would have otherwise been. Lloris was the expected starter and playing every match by November.

Respect to Forster for that performance last night. First couple of games I thought we had an absolute lemon but he's been really good.

That one on one save was really special and generally he did pretty well last night.

Noteworthy shout out to FF. Doing his job with aplomb.

A back-up keeper who doesn't need a dogs-age to "get up to speed".

Comes in; steady away and looks to be for the betterment of the team.

I've got so much respect for Lloris and the service he's given us over the years as our club captain, however I really hope Forster keeps his starting position for the rest of the season. He's such a reliable calming presence behind our defence.

And doesn't look like he's got a sore-foot when distributing. LLoris strikes the ball like he's wearing flip-flops.

I love Hugo, I really do. I think a lot of the stick he gets in uncalled for. However, I think it made a huge difference having someone fairly calm on the ball when passing around the back. It’s never been Hugo’s strength and he’s always made me nervous when watching. Forster isn’t exactly Ederson with his passing, but he seems a lot less panicked.

Assuming Hugo does leave, we're going to need another goalkeeper for sure. But in the event that a suitable one cannot be signed then having him as No1 for the season, whilst not ideal, wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. the other issue might be, that we need a number of players elsewhere on the pitch so keeping him on as No1 for a season could be seen by the club as a solution of sorts

Is his deal just for 12 months? If so we really should extend. Excellent 2nd choice keeper

It all depends on the market doesn't it? If we have the opportunity to get a top class replacement for lloris then yeah, but I'm comfortable with Forster otherwise. I'd sooner our funds be directed at defenders, an attacking mid etc.

If it’s a choice of getting two top class CBs this summer and keeping him in goal for another season or 1 CB and a new keeper I think I’d be happier with the two new CBs options.

Any danger of not flopping on the floor to your right like a salmon having a stroke on maybe just one of the 5 penalties wtf was that

Genuinely one of the worst performances from a keeper I’ve ever seen in a shootout. Got done by feint about 4 times.

He was good aside from the pens shootout. I’m fine with him being our number 2 this season, we likely won’t need him for another penalty shootout anyways lol
