I still would like to see Gio given a chance in Ange's system as I really think he would suit it, but if we could somehow offer Celta Gio and Regi for Veiga I wouldn't mad (assuming Gio doesn't have a place here). Yes I know its pie in the sky stuff but still.

I don’t think he fancies coming back and playing for us. Probably pushing hard for a bit of sun on his back in Spain. .

Interesting to see where he goes, he was supposedly keen to join Villa when there were links a few weeks back.

I've just seen we have been linked again to Gabri Veiga, that is one player i'd be very happy as a replacement.... which is why it won't happen.

I dont know too much about him other than seeing him linked with a load of different teams this window, so I expect his agent wants to move him on somewhere.

He's a phenomenal young talent who can play as ether an 8 or a 10 and is excellent as a goal threat breaking into the box. Very technical, good vision, hard worker and a excellent finisher. He's a different profile then Scott. He would be the perfect example of a Ange 8 in his 433. Where ever he goes he will have a bright future as long as big club don't buy him and bench him. Anyway, won't derail this thread further but he would suit us well if there is any truth in it.

Aren't Betis totally skint or something?

Feel we've been a bit unlucky to not find a decent buyer for Lo Celso. He's surely a £20-30m player but doesn't feel like we're going to get anywhere near that amount for him.

A quick google show they restructured debt (from the pandemic) this year with an American firm.
"The Club will receive 65 million Euros to be repaid in six years, which will substantially improve their working capital position"

6th place got them 25m euro's and Europa qualification, hopefully they want to part with some of that for GLC, or we look to trade him, which as we know is tricky, but we're probably due some luck.

BBC Transfer Round-Up

Barcelona want to sign Manchester City and Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva, 28, but their back-up plan is to approach Tottenham and Argentina's Giovani lo Celso, 27. (Mundo Deportivo)

What about if we knick Bernado Silva and kill two birds with one stone.

He is a tough one to move. There are clubs that certainly want him but problem is they are all in Spain and there are very few clubs in Spain that can pull off a 20-30 million pound transfer.

Shame he’s an absolute quality player and would really suit Ange's style of football perfectly as one of the 8’s but can see why he’d like to get a move to la liga etc and sure he will do well.

Agree but he also seems like one of those that just does better in a La Liga type league vs the PL. I know he played a bit deeper for us and under a defensive coach but:

- He has 21 goal involvements in 70 matches in La Liga (.3 return)
- 11 goal involvements in 38 Ligue 1 matches (.29 return)
- 4 goal involvements in 55 Premier League matches (.07 return)

I would agree with you on paper to me he seems similar to our links with Conor Gallagher. Maybe a bit more attacking, but works pretty hard for the team, and can create. So it is interesting that the club may view N'dombele as keepable but not GLC... but at the end of the day maybe it's just down to suitors. As Fab said, many clubs in the race with only 2 years left.. hope we can get something decent for him!
