Glad to see him take the clean slate Ange offered with both hands, he's made losing Madders for a spell much easier to bear.

Thanks didn’t realise it was a fact, I thought he was outstanding 100% completion, a goal, tackled tenaciously. Your views on the goals are frankly just stated to support your fact, so he gave away a free kick, it happens and the freekick should have been cleared by Bissouma easily. The second goal blaming GLC you’re having a laugh. Still I stand corrected as it seems it was a fact. You don’t like GLC that’s plain to see but your negativity towards his play is tiresome and that’s a fact.
Watch the second goal again and how he doesnt track Alvarez

Pity his contract is winding down really. Unless Ange really is a football Casanova, would be be willing to commit to another 4/5 years here after the disjointed, messy previous 4 with us?

I understand injuries etc have hampered him and I'm not not laying blame on the club etc. it's just been poor timing/luck and with all the managerial changes during his time here he might want a clean break.
I did read that he and his family love living in London and aren't in a hurry to move away permanently.

I'm glad he's proving what many of us said - stick him in a team that are setup to keep possession, in his favourite 8/10 role and he will thrive. He just never had that opportunity under Conte or Mourinho.

I'm seeing a lot of people saying that we were not able to break the press in the first half. I think the big difference i saw was when Ange changes Hojbjerg for Gil and moved GLC forward and Kulu to the wing. Lo Celso was still coming deep and that gave us an extra man in the build up phase. Royal and Davies were not great progressing the ball but City did a really good job at closing down those passing lanes. You could see when playing out from the back we were slow to add abother player into the mix to get out.

If Gio keeps up these performances I am ready to forgive everything. He deserves to be here if this continues.
Forgive what? He has nothing to be forgiven for!

He just needed to play under a Manager who wants his team to keep the ball and attack and create and be given a run of games and match sharpness to get to the level he was at playing for Betis and for Argentina, he himself has never done anything wrong.

Really think it would help Gio if he gave an interview of some kind. Even if it's in Spanish like Romero has done in the past. As far as I can remember he's never done one since he signed for the club and as such it's hard for the fans to make a connection with the human being.

He was in the All or Nothing doc and came across very well and very committed. His English was good then

I like him a bit further back than Maddison. Think they could both play together if one can do the job on the right of the midfield 3

Thought he was great next to Bissouma, if a tad further forward. His defensive work is often overlooked but he loves a tackle. He also threads passes through the lines and pushes up to support the front line. He'll be putting the heat on Sarr for a starting spot for sure, and no way Ange can drop him after the last couple of games. Quality player who just needed the right platform to impress. Things are going to get wild when Bentancur, Maddison and Sarr are back in the frame.

I agree he's great at threading passes through the lines hence why I like him a bit deeper. He doesn't seem to be amazing at passing in behind the defence in the final third, esp if a team sits deep (that's where Madders is a different level). I prefer him to arrive into those positions rather than be stationed there.

Remarkable to have 100pc pass accuracy Vs city.

Tbh I think for the last few season's he was labelled a bit of a black sheep so I can understand why there might be reticence from the media team. I can remember stories floating about that he was rude to staff or some nonsense. I mean even now there are still people on the hellscape that is twitter that say he's awful. It's a shame but it really feels some would rather he fail's so they can say "i told you so" even if that means we loose a game rather then him play well and we win. But I guess thats nothing new, we've seen it with Vic and Kule etc etc.

I'm sure tho if he continues how he has that he will start being more in the media limelight, he certainly deserves the praise he's been getting and I'm genuinely excited to see how he preforms over the next few games. The real test will be if/when he has a little dip (which happens to every footballer) how he and the fans respond. And of course if he gets injured which I am honestly terrified about because he's very much in the ascendancy atm.
