As good as he is overall, I completely disagree with that last sentence. Some of his decisions are mindboggling when it comes to this.

Fair enough, I'll gladly admit that I nearly soiled myself when he played a pass between two Watford attackers that were about five yards apart this Sunday, but I generally think he's very good a judging when it's time to play and when it's time to go for a longer ball.

We may have conceded a goal - via a throw in but you can bet you bottom dollar Poch's analysts will have crunched the numbers and we concede more goals when the keeper kicks long as it gives the opposition the chance to win headed and 2nd balls and put us under pressure.

Yeah quite possibly mate. I think against Watford it looked a lot more worth it because I just felt we were actually doing more with the ball then.

I don't disagree with playing it out from the back but it's just getting the balance right. We haven't directly conceded from it yet but there have been a handful of times where we without a doubt have put ourselves under more pressure than if we were to kick long initially.

So you don't agree that it was an egregious example of the weakest part of his game? If not, then what part do you disagree with?

Seems I read the post too hastily. I read it as " weak part of his game", not "weakest". I was just trying to make the point that it's not really a weak point in his game, when that's not what you wrote.

So here I am, with egg on my face. (or poop on my calf, as it's called over here)

We're good. (y)

He's so good in pretty much every facet of goalkeeping, but his kicking, IMO, is the weakest part of his game. I think he's good enough playing the ball on the ground, though I do think his long kicking leaves a ton to be desired (though I'm willing to be "proven" wrong on that).

"Poop on my calf?" That's kind of brilliant!

He's in the top 10 in Europes biggest four leagues for long pass accuracy, if that counts for anything.

Loved the quotes at the bottom of this Kane article. What a captain.

We can feel confidence in our side but, in football, things can turn very quickly if you don’t have the right behaviour, the right attitude.

We need to keep our feet on the floor and keep working hard. One thing I like about Tottenham is that there is not a really big star. We are all working for the team.

We all respect the team. The club is bigger than any player in this team, and it works well.

Jordan Pickford has picked out Manchester United’s David De Gea and Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris as the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
The Spain international has won Manchester United’s player of the year in the past three seasons to highlight his continued importance to the Red Devils.

Lloris, meanwhile, has been one of the top-flight’s most-consistent goalkeepers since swapping Lyon in a big-money deal for Tottenham in 2012.

Sunderland have arguably the most-exciting goalkeeping prospect in their ranks in the shape of Pickford, who has been impressive for the relegation candidates.

And the England prospect has named De Gea and Lloris as the two best Premier League goalkeepers.

“I’d have to say De Gea or Lloris. They’re both top drawer. Lloris is rapid and has incredible reactions. And you only have to look at the save De Gea made from Hazard against Chelsea down to his right,” said Pickford, speaking exclusively to EA Sports.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper has made just 25 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats in his blossoming career so far.

Sunderland have struggled under new manager David Moyes and the Stadium of Light outfit are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.

Pickford is still waiting to make his senior England debut.

Jordan Pickford was speaking about FIFA 17, Sunderland and the season so far to to EASPORTS.com. To read the full interview, go to https://www.easports.com/uk/fifa/news/2017/jordan-pickford-interview

Classy move from Hugo Lloris for injured goalkeeper
Scott-Morris_avatar_1484738889-32x32.png

By Scott Morrison Friday, March 31, 2017

Class
Hugo Lloris has offered his support to the Luxembourg national team goalkeeper Anthony Moris after his injury against France.

The player suffered an ACL injury within the first 20 minutes and now will miss up to eight months with injury.

After the game, the Tottenham goalkeeper sent him a signed kit and a message of support.

The classy gesture has been reported in his home country and Lloris is now being seen a brilliant man.

Hugo has had his fair share of injuries and clearly felt some sympathy for the goalkeeper.

Nice video interview with Hugo

The goalkeeper has previously said that his future is "tied" to Pochettino and, asked what that meant, he replied: "It's very clear. It just means I have a lot of respect for the man, a lot of respect for the manager. We have a great connection and when you get something strong like that, it's never easy to find it again in your life or in your career. It's very simple.

"And then, in football, everything is impossible. The only thing that I know is that I enjoy my time at Tottenham and especially under Mauricio Pochettino. I believe that with him the club can reach the level we all want.

"I still remember the first time I spoke to him by phone, just a few days after he signed here as manager. It was very simple. He tried to describe his philosophy of football, the way he wants to play, the way he wants the team to work. And his ambition. He's a winner and he has a lot of ambition, individually.

Oh, and who's the **** arsehole at left end of the desk banging on about his Sweden error like a muppet ****?

When poch rocked up at the end there he should have given him a sly little rabbit punch in the back of the head for talking shit.

Just wish the Yanks would do some proper research...
They mention us finishing 2nd twice in a row in both the video with Hugo and the one about us competing without spending.

Just watching SSN and they had Chris Kirkland on talking about the new season and gave his Top 5 current PL keepers:

1. De Gea
2. Courtois
3. Schmeichel
4. Foster
5. Pickford

I'm stunned.
