To be perfectly honest, losing Lloris wont be a huge impact. Of course , it will be painful to see him in a United shirt but fact is even he couldnt keep a cleansheet since November - courtesy our leaky defense.

I dont think Vorm for Lloris is bad replacement. Vorm isnt a sweeper keeper like Lloris, but IMO has very god distribution including fast long throws which Lloris doesnt possess.

Biggest loss in Lloris going will be the perspective that yet another world class player has left us.

There are very decent keepers out there at not so expensive price.

In PL, Adrian from west ham would be brilliant - has got only one year on the deal - but I guess it would be difficult to deal with their lot.
Agreed. There are loads of interesting, lower profile, goalies in the PL who are equally adept at picking the ball out of the net. I'm in fact almost a bit bummed that we did sign Vorm (not talking him down, honestly), simply because there are even better goalies from the same level, goalies I think would fancy Spurs if Lloris left. It was very apparent to me last summer that even though he signed a 5 years deal, he actually only committed to 1 of them.

Interestingly not so clear as to where he could end up:
Utd - will likely sell De Gea but have Valdes in the wings (and LVG gave VV his start at Barca) + does Hugo go to Utd and risk losing top spot to De Gea (very possible with LVG there) in the lead up to France 2016?
Real - want De Gea
PSG - does Hugo want to play CL and be back in France? Done that with Lyon.

As soon as we signed Vorm last season I accepted Lloris would leave this summer, and definitely without CL. That was a huge sign. Why would Vorm come and be our second keeper, unless of course he was assured he'd be the number one season after. Its possible he's come happy to be the number two for the foreseeable but I never really believed that.

I'm totally prepared for Hugo to be sold this summer, but if he isn't its a huge bonus.

Vorm wasn't even first choice at Swansea last season and they'd already signed Flappyhandski by the time he joined us.

Again though, it's been posed before, who could/would actually sign Hugo?

He left France because the French league wasn't competitive enough, which rules out PSG. Barca can't sign anyone in the summer, and they only just signed ter Stegen last summer. Real want De Gea and will probably get him (Utd are resigned to him going, as evidenced by signing Valdes and Dea Gea not signing a new contract - he'll only have a year left this summer), Bayern have Neuer and Chelsea have Courtois. Considering Levy supposedly turned down in excess of £100m from Utd for Bale can you really see him selling Lloris to them when he has four years left on his contract?

I suspect you are writing off PSG a bit too easily, and the present possibilities is one thing. Another is what happens when his agent starts making those calls.

Would be gutted if he left as he's my favourite player probably however I think for the first time out of our recent big sales, I wouldn't feel any hint of resentment. With Bale I think we always felt he could have given us another year considering how long he was with us and how we stuck by him through injury, Berbatov we brought to England and was off at the first chance, Keane hurt because he was on the brink of becoming a legend and Modric was bad because of the way he tried to orchestrate a move to Chelsea.

With Lloris, he's been loyal and given us chance after chance to compete, has been consistently world class since his arrival and been a model professional and captain to the club. I can't deny him his move, and as much as I hope it's Madrid rather than United, he's more than earned the right to be playing at the highest level and gaining the respect and acclaim he deserves

It really comes down which club can give 25m for Lloris. Madrid & PSG are only clubs. People here forget the pulling power of PSG. If PSG want him they will get him.
But given FFP, I see PSG moving for Cech as a cheaper option. Also Chelsea wouldnt want him to be sold to Arsenal or Liverpool IMO.

So let the conspiracy theories begin...

Is he currently still injured, or has he now decided he's done with us and won't appear again this season??

I can see Arsenal, United, PSG and Madrid making offers for him this summer to be honest.

A bid from Arsenal would be as pointlessly ridiculous as sticking an extra quid on their Suarez bid. It'll get laughed all the way back at them. Why would both Man Utd and Real bid? If De Gea stays at Utd, they don't need to. If Utd need a new keeper it'll be because De Gea's gone to Real.

It's funny, Liverpool won't be in the Champions League next season either, which will mean only one season of CL in the last six for them (just like us) yet you don't see the press trying to engineer moves for their best players.

Quite, anything other than what comes out of his mouth is bull shit. The stuff on the facebook pages is pure bullshit... funny how we get linked with a big player and it is instantly dismissed as bullshit yet people are willing to accept anything said about one of our players leaving...

No, let's not.

Just to point out, I was being sarcastic.
I don't for a minute believe that his head has been turned, yet, and I do think he's happy where he is.

However, I do think that we will start seeing offers come in during the summer.
With regards to Arsenal making a bid, I do see it happening. I also think it will be laughed off, but if he's happy living in London and wants to play in the CL...

The writing was on the wall when we signed Vorm tbh. It's a rarity to have a bench keeper of that quality.

And Tom Glover's going to be the next Hugo in a few years anyway...

It's happening with Sterling.

Felt bitter and rather salty with Carrick, berbatov, Keane, modric and bale when they left.

When Hugo kicks up a fuss in the summer I will not be bitter at all, really don't blame him. Place has gone backward since he signed and its unlikely we'll be champions league quality anytime soon .
Go grab the medals you deserve Hugo

Still don't see us selling to a PL team. I thought we'd made that clear with Bale and Modric. Would hope this has been made clear to him.

Mitchell should be be doing his data wonk stuff to sort us out a replacement.

Absolutely agree. Sums up my sentiments exactly.
