It very easily might not be a question of Levy only selling if a BIG enough offer comes about; if Lloris wants to go badly enough and his head is turned by bigger things, Levy wont want to keep him. Remember Levy's statement on the Bale sale? - "we have taken the view that [Bale] will not be sufficiently committed to our campaign in the current season." It's pretty basic A.B.C Human Resourcing not to keep someone around if they don't want to be there and it looks as though Levy holds to that particular philosophy. And I'm sure whatever he gets for Hugo, he'll be quite pleased with, even if it isn't quite the figure of his wildest dreams.

Having Vorm as our current number 2 doesn't stop us from getting a new number one does it?
But not having Vorm, if Lloris leaves, would make the matter urgent enough to spend more money & resources on the right goalie. If Lloris leaves, I very much do expect Vorm to become #1. And in honesty he hasn't done anything wrong to prevent that from happening. Still, there are some interesting PL names it would have been great to choose from.

The defence has done nothing of note to prove they are worthy of world class goalies. If we are going to concede 50 goals a year, rather it won't be whilst wasting the talent of a world class 20M+ goalie. I agree though, I'm afraid the acquisition of Vorm was a bit rushed. There are several talented goalies in the PL, some of which would have been a great fit.
Would be a lot higher without Lloris that 50 number.

If we lost Lloris, unfortunately I think the Spammers keeper is excellent, they would never sell to us though would they ?

Still is handy. We would be couple of places below where we are now if it weren't for him.
I reckon more than 1 place below is an exaggeration. Not because he can't do that, but we've been collectively not good enough to benefit from his play. There was a spell in Dec/Jan when results were generally really good for several weeks, and in that single period, Lloris was the matchmaker a couple of times. That's the level needed throughout the season to get the most benefit from world class goalie.

After the Adebayor fiasco the phone would be slammed down immediately.

Fancy top players not wanting to play for a club that never wins anything and doesn't show enough ambition. How dare they!

courtois (19)
de gea (20)
oblak (21)
ter-stegen (22)

age when signed in brackets. we should be on the look out for the next one of these, maybe mcgee can become that but i don't really know enough about him or keepers in general. vorm's a safe pair of hands to keep around whilst the youngster gets to grips with things. no point selling hugo and spending 10m on a begovic or something when we have a similar level keeper at the club already.

Unfortunately, the keepers I'd quite like to replace Lloris are at clubs we would find it difficult to deal with (Cech, Adrian). I think we'd cast our eye over a few of the young keepers in the bundesliga.

Well, the only positive thing about this whole situation, is that we don't have to sell to Man Utd if we don't want to. If Lloris really wants to leave, he would just as likely want to go to PSG, and be a part of their new golden era. And I'm pretty sure they can offer the same amount of £££ as United.

Would just be heartbreaking to see him in a United shirt. Especially when you go to Redcafe and read how many of those inbreds who don't even rate Lloris as a top class goal keeper in the first place. And you just know he would be magnificent for them.

Would much rather be able to watch him play on Wednesday nights for PSG in CL, silently cheering for him, and wiping tears.

But of course, the best thing would be if he stayed. And if you read this, Lloris, just remember the beauty of the chicken badge, and your lovely purple shirt.:D
