Hugo is a top guy and has been an incredible servant and goalie for us so I don’t want this to be taken the wrong way but his comments about not acting like Martinez in the final because he wouldn’t feel right about it for me sums up part of the reason why we’ve not got over the line to win something with him as captain.

Rightly or wrongly he doesn’t go the extra mile and have that drive to drag the team over the line.

Love Hugo but I’ll be glad when he is no longer captain, never liked a goalie as a captain and definitely not one who isn’t particularly motivating imo.

Anyways hope he has a stormer in the NLD ?

Actually didn't realise he was 36, 145 caps for your country is very impressive.

I doubt it. He obviously loves it here and I'm sure he extended because Conte arrived and he wanted to try for a trophy. If Conte stays I think he will stay. Unless we win the FA Cup this season but he might be interested in a title push next season.

That’s three times we’ve been in a decent position in games where Hugo has done a big mistake with a loss as consequence.

Adding 0-0 against Arsenal (H) - Lloris howler.

Including today’s pending defeat that’s 4 out of our 6 league defeats that’s starts with a Lloris mistake.

These are not ‘could have done better’ actions, these are disaster errors.

Not going to knee-jerk, but this accumulation of key errors in huge games is becoming intolerable. Amazing shot-stopper, but if we need to progress we need a confident ball playing goalkeeper that can be relied on when we are up against it, not one that just sends nervousness throughout the team and stadium every time he's on the ball.

One of the biggest reasons why we never win the big games. Always does a ridiculous mistake and then parades around with his arms up looking pissed off. Ive had enough of him now.
