didn't know whether to come here, or the Dier thread, first. Horribly wasteful in the final third. Gives the ball away really cheaply where we can't afford to be turned over. Disappointing signing.
Maybe the match thread where you can moan about both?! ??

Yes, fantastic delivery but apart from that, a very limited player these days unfortunately.

Need Udogie and another LWB in the summer. I suppose we'll have to loan out Sessengon as no one will buy him but we can't have Perisic playing any more

So you don't think he's a flop now? Have we scored from one of his deliveries recently? Can't remember many set piece goals at all recently and they were masking our true form at the start of the season

I know you’re Conte out but this is a big stretch man, not everything supports this argument. There’s nothing wrong in this context other than Perisic being ripe for retirement, he’s just not a good player anymore. So slow off the mark, poor touch, weak, can’t play out from the back to save his life.. he’s just poor other than his delivery, we’re really in a bad position having to rely on him for the rest of the season. If I was Conte I would be working with Danjuma for LWB as quickly as I could instead

Conte desperately wanted him, we backed him, yet he’s been a terrible signing in open play and clearly can’t play in the PL at his age. Makes me doubt Conte’s eye for a player.
His set pieces are great but in open play he’s been awful. Can’t run, can’t defend, gives the ball away for fun and wastes the ball a lot.

Perisic was a top player the last time Conte probably laid eyes on him before he signed for us and has been a top player for the majority of his career. 99% likely Conte didn’t scout him, was offered him on a free and was keen based on his previous experiences with him. We were all keen as fuck too, who wouldn’t have been? Players decline and bypass the PL level overnight sometimes though, you only have to look at some of Liverpool’s 30+ year old’s this season as an example.. Henderson, Firmino and Fabinho are nowhere to be seen and Salah’s form has fallen off a cliff too. Perisic is just too old for this level now and we’re lucky we didn’t pay a fee for him and we have a young talent in Udogie to replace him next season or we’d be in serious trouble. As for the rest of this season, we are in serious trouble in quite a few positions now unfortunately

Even that doesn't make up for how bad he is at everything else. He’s completely detrimental to the team in both our defence and counter attacking plays. Horrific signing.
