LW: Solomon, Gil (back Nov/Dec?)
RW: Kulu, Johnson
ST: Son, Richy

Am I missing someone?
Possibly Sess when he gets back? I guess Veliz and Santiago would be options if shit really starts hitting the fan.

I think the positive is that we don't need the "two per position" thing... it will be about all the forward players being able to fill rows across the front. So I can imagine Sonny and even Johnson appearing at LW on occasion. Otherwise we just need Solomon to play 90 minutes each week, which should be OK given our schedule.

Gutting for Perisic as it was looking like he had a great chance at a mini redemption and leaving Spurs on a high.

Feel for him! I did mine the 2nd time twisting a bit funny. The mental impact is as big as the physical. Hope he manages to get himself fit for the Euros

Absolutely terrible news, he'd been a proper super sub so far and a really influential part off how we've been closing out games. Really hope he can make it back for the Euros before, i would imagine, heading home for a season or two.

Going to really need someone like Gil to step up and fill that tactical role, though. Hopefully he can come back and get into it quickly.

For fuck's sake. Gutted for him. First and foremost I hope he recovers and plays again.

Second what the fuck is it with us and injuries. Forward options looking pretty thin now. Gil is still out and who knows whether he can cut it in the PL. Solomon looks lively and hopefully he'll be good, but let's be honest that was a bargain Levy signing and far from a sure thing.

Shows why you always need to invest in quality.

Gutted.

Aka potentially the "unhappy triad", if it's damage to the ACL, MCL and the meniscus.
Any idea on how this sort of injury could happen seeing as it's been reported as a "non contact" injury?

I've watched tonnes of spurs training videos over the years and the individual training seems to be fairly light in regards to twisting atleast? Is it more likely a gym training injury? Twisting under weight or something?

Gutted for him though, especially as many had him nailed on to leave and be surplus to requirements after last season and no longer playing a WB system, but even through pre season has really stepped on and proved to be a very important player, even if off the bench as a LWF option. Hope it doesn't end his career.

It can happen anywhere, but most likely on the pitch - foot gets planted, and does not give when the player turns.

Most ACL injuries are "non-contact"

Sad way for him to go out (if that is the end)
Was a real calming influence coming off the bench and a fantastic deliverer of a dead ball or cross.

Hopefully Gil can get fit, start for and step up as an integral part of Ange's system

Good luck Ivan whatever happens. (y)

Gutted for him.
He will certainly still be a positive around the club and a great role model for the younger guys during recovery.
I hope he recovers well but sadly I don't think we will see him on the field in a Spurs shirt again.

Absolutely gutted for him, and from a Spurs perspective it has happened ironically at a time where his influence and contributions to vital assists and performance were more significant than they have been at any time in his relatively short Spurs career. He may not have been an automatic first pick this season but there is no doubting that when he has come on he has made some key contributions in games that have been the difference between us winning and not winning.

Unfortunately for him if these estimates of how long he will be out for are true he is unlikely to feature in the Euro finals if Croatia get there and in the longer term his international career in finals now looks in serious doubt and the same could quite possibly be said for his career with us.

I hope we still have him around plenty when he's able to get around a bit. He's such a good head to have around the locker room. There's a lot of young players who will benefit with him in their ear.

ACL is such a fucker. Sounds like a minor tweak but in reality it's a huge op. I was amazed to hear of the South African rugby player who had his op 2 weeks before mine and then played a WC match last week! These guys are lucky to have professional rehab. But even so it's a real bugger to heal from. Wish Ivan all the best and can only sympathise it was an innocuous incident that did for him.
