I really do prefer Tanganga at RB. So much better there at the moment. Maybe he starts there in PL and plays CB in cup games to get him game time.

Strikes me he is quite an ambitious lad. After all there was some talk of him wanting to leave 12 months ago. He himself might prefer to go elsewhere where he can establish himself as no.1 in his position for at least 12 months.

Exactly, everyone keeps saying he's a great back up RB as if he'd be ok with that. If he stays we wants to start, fair play to him.

So assuming we sign Tomiyasu and sell Aurier the question is which of these is stronger

Tomiyasu Dier Romero Reggie
Tanganga Dier Romero Reggie
Tanganga Tomiyasu Romero Reggie
Tomiyasu Sanchez Romero Reggie
Tanganga Sanchez Romero Reggie

Honestly, I'd like us to sign a new RB but if we do play lop sided with a defensive RB then I'm not sure who I'd prefer to Tanganga that is remotely realistic.

With the lack of full stops, Just reading that has left me as knackered as NDombele after being told to warm up.

The thing is if he's a backup how is he going to develop?

I like him defensively as a FB but he lacks the attacking threat which makes us too easy to shutdown as a team.

He’s shown plenty of attacking threat when he’s played at RB. He setup the goal today for instance.

Having two full backs that bomb forward together can leave you exposed if you don't have cover in midfield - but with two good ball winners in Hojbjerg and Skipp together we should have that cover. But without signing a proper playmaker in the Eriksen / Van der Vaart mould then we're really not in a position to compromise on attacking ability from the flanks by playing a defensive minded full back.

Good as his performance was yesterday - he is not a Robertson / Alexander-Arnold type attacking full back that I'd want on both sides. Ideally he'd be a part of a three man defence with a wing back (Lucas) ahead of him on the flanks. Funnily enough - I wonder if he'd also be able to do a job as a DM - remember what a season in midfield did for Ledley's reading of the game and ball playing ability....

It doesn't seem to have done much for Diers!

We do have a couple of playmakers though not yet in calibre yet..1 has injuries issue. 1 has fitness issues

I think Japhet can cement a RB slot this season.

I still believe he is more naturally a good CB waiting to blossom if given a run of games. Hate it that people are shoeing him to be a Right Back

Absolutely brilliant, nothing more to say. There are some close candidates but he simply has to be the man of the match.

Someone let the City fans know if they’re looking for Grealish and Sterling they’re comfy in Japhet’s pocket.

Tanganga was superb. Had Sterling and Grealish on toast for most of it. Geez England are blessed with RBs aren't we? ?

I Said a few weeks back he wasn’t good enough to be our starter, haha stupid fuck.
Incredible today, he’ll have good games and he’ll have some bad ones, but he’s shown he can do it against the best

I’ve said it multiple times, defensively a top drawer player. Most importantly he makes his mark on the game physically. As the game went on, players were more and more scared to take him on. Grealish, Jesus, Stering, time to get out of Japh’s pocket. What a fucking player.
