Blimey he better not let us down after all this lol. But seriously it’s hard to imagine someone can play that well and it be a fluke. Plus there were signs last season he was capable of it. This is it with a young player for me when they are real good it’s just obvious. Bit like Rice at West Ham, he is clearly a cut above their rabble. It’s very rare a young player is a slow burner and goes on to be top draw. Someone like Kane was an exception. But even saying that about Kane he was scoring with us from the get go. This is why I’m not having a player like Onomah. If you’re still unconvinced after 40 spurs appearances and a season and bit in championship then it’s highly unlikely they will ever be good enough imo. This is my rule now with young players if you’re trying to convince yourself they are good enough they most likely aren’t. Unfortunately KWP may fall in this category, just look at the difference Trent made from the start was just obvious. Harsh but the bar is very high now.

Two things:

1. Call ups to the national side can only help his development. It’s great news he’s getting that extra experience.

2. With Jan out and his performance on Wednesday, maybe it means Poch will be “brave” enough to give him a go in a back three should we need to go that way in any games in the next month. It’s a real plus.

It's incredible that Foyth has a literal handful of games for us and is in the Argentina squad. They really aren't producing many defenders these days. A far cry from the old days when they had Poch, Ayala and Samuel, to name but a handful.

But obviously delighted for him and hope this is a springboard to greater things.

This is the unfortunate thing nowadays that people think that young players need to be wonderkids at 18 just to succeed, not every player will start to improve at the same age. Kevin De Bruyne was a slow burner for example at the age of 23 which would be considered 'late' was when he started to fullfill his potential - now look at him.

Said this before you can't apply the same rules across the board to every young player, they need the right conditions around them to succeed, some players are just simply late bloomers.

The Dutch league being pretty shite might have something to do with your hypothesis.

You're either incredibly ignorant of just plain trolling.

4 of our best players in this current Tottenham team cut their teeth in the Eridivisie, you realise that right?

Dont forget Argentina game Mammana his first cap before he had even made his first team debut at club level, so I'm not sure what to make of the Foyth call up.

Yes and when we're not talking about the three top teams in the league, young English kids are getting regular football with a load of unknown, Championship standard at best footballers.

Hardly different to cutting your teeth during a loan in the Championship, which would be preferred as it's closer to PL standard to be honest...Marcus would be at one if he hadn't fucked the 1st one up.

Foyth is going to be a great player if he continues to develop, but he had a good game against a shite Spam side, calm down the hype a little. He needs games, I'm unsure he'll get enough...he is young, is down the pecking order and is a risk.

He'll play early rounds of the Cup and hopefully a few home appearances as cover against teams further down the table...but just calm down a bit.

He's still young and will, naturally, make mistakes and need to fortify his game here and there, but the natural quality and talent is undeniable.

Agree about Onomah and KWP... don't think they'll make it here, unfortunately.

The only hope for KWP is if he goes on loan to a club where he plays most of the season and is able to really get his game going and toughen up.

And I don't think poch is going to do that.

He should really have been on loan this season imo.

Poch's development philosophy is a bit concerning tbh.

Don't want to see skipp wasted. Another natural talent, born to play the game.

I think Tim Vickery has talked about this before, but in the Argentinian league most defences play very deep lines, therefore older, slower players can still prosper, so they're not producing as many modern, mobile defenders that you need to compete at the top level these days.

Says the Vlad apologist...I give up tbh.
u should bc you've done a pretty bad job of proving any of your points. You don't backup any of your beliefs with any semblance of logic. I dont mind you having a different opinion just explain yourself better than, bc the manager says so.

And I'm not apologising for Vlad, he holds a lot of responsible for how his career played out. All Im saying is management at that time didnt help him out, and he was a lot more natual gifted than fans give him credit for.
