He was apparently struggling with an injury for most of the season. Anyone would find replicating a high level of performance nigh on impossible in that scenario. People just hate him for not being Kyle Walker.

Because the majority of the teams targeted our right side this past season. Trippier seems to have hit his ceiling and I personally don't think he's better than average. I would happily offload one or both of our left backs, but the right side is much more of a problem.

Which again, sounds to me as you're pointing the majority of this seasons defensive faults Trippier's way.
With the way that Poch set's up, the wing backs will often be caught out because they are high up the pitch and that's not me standing up for Tripps here, that's just stating the obvious.
I also believe we could do better in that position but I just don't believe it's our number 1 priority right now.

I find replacing Dembele and looking for a new Toby (quite clear he is done with us) and Verts (age against him within a year or so) the major priorities for us right now because we could end up stuck with two newcomers next season who leak goals for fun otherwise.
Throw replacing Eriksen into that mix if he doesn't sign as well and I think we have enough changes to be made as it is.
Will Poch want a replacement for Llorente, who has already left?
Enough positions that need changing because of our lack of doing anything in the past three windows, I'm sure Trippier can wait another season and I think he deserves a chance as well.

Then that's another reason to replace him as he obviously isn't suited to that way of playing.

No it's not. It's clear that the priority is CM and rightfully so. After that, one proper RB is more important to me than a CB at this time (which obviously changes if TA departs). As you say, you can't change everything which is why I'd much rather replace our right side than our left for now, even though both need upgrading.

Which is funny because, other than his final season, people loved to hate on Kyle Walker for being Kyle Walker.

The S*n linking Ricardo Pereira with Juve now, so maybe they've cooled their interest in Tripp

As do Man City fans every time he "does a Kyle Walker". I still think Trippier's a better technical footballer than Walker but isn't half the athlete and, while injured and/or knackered, last season really highlighted that. It looks like Kieran's going, but if he stays he will be better next season - more of a steady Eddie.

Wtf Walker was very good for us, and despite his brainfarts he was very important piece of the way we played.

Given Sarri would have seen first hand his excellent finish past Lloris, I can see why he may have his doubts on that one...!

So, Dani Alves is not signing a new contract at PSG.

Maybe he fancies a crack at the PL before he heads back to Brazil or even to China to wind down his illustrious career ;)

I feel like that is the exact signing that needs to be made. A guy with experience in winning trophies who can also still play at a high level. I hope they're at least thinking about it.

I think this would be a great idea actually. We have no clear RB target at the moment and plenty of other areas that need addressing in the market this window. No shame in getting Alves in for a year, reassessing RB next summer.

Dani Alves would be amazing, just for a year. Isn't he on a crazy salary though?

Dani Alves is 36 and will be 37 during the 2019/20 season, absolutely no chance of us being interested in him. Besides he rarely played as a FB for PSG... was utilised further up the field.

If you look at his stats, trophies won and clubs played for, it's a very successful career indeed.

Plus over 100 caps for Brazil.

You kind of forget about Dani Alves when thinking about the most famous players, but he's actually one of the most successful right backs of all time.

If we could get him and Aarons I think that would be the present and the future at RB sorted.
