They didn't get him.
They didn't get him.
I see where you're coming from but it's a slippery slope and over the course of a few deals those millions add up. The fact that Levy runs a tight ship and refuses to bend is what sets up apart from the likes of QPR, Leeds and, well, Spurs in the Sugar years.
There have definitely been occasions when Levy has taken it too far but on the whole I'd much rather have a stingy Levy than almost any other chairman.
I just worked on a property portfolio deal worth over £250m, and my client's surveyor was haggling over £100s of pounds in rent apportionments.
You don't make any money if you throw it around. So I'm sorry, I just don't agree at all, and nor would the majority of the City.
A few million pounds. Based on a company that has a profit of a few million pounds.
You people are mental; I hope to God you don't have your own business.
makes me think yedlin was a marketing ploy.
I didn't know that Lolerpool were after Rafa VdV, what happened?
The story is Levy knew Liverpool wanted Rafa but needed to sell first. Levy lodged a bid for Babel, had him flown into spurs lodge left him sitting around twiddling his thumbs while we stole in and got the deal done with Madrid, and then sent Babel back up to Liverpool
Came from an ITK on here iirc so who knows how true it is, but it's a great story
Took you a while!
If Walkers injuries are a real long-term concern then this makes perfect sense to me. We'd start the season with Trippier, one of Fredericks/Yedlin (the other sold or loaned), KWP as an occasional youth (though I think he's at least a year away from contributing in a major way) and Walker in the physio room. In Jan or next summer we would reevaluate and either lose an injured Walker, or whichever out of Trip/Fred/Yedlin failed to impress.took my head an instant, but my heart a lot longer I accept. I had indeed hoped he was more Lee Young-pyo than Toda.
The right back slot continues to show me that we have too many cooks involved in decision making. Walker, Yedlin, Fredricks, Walker-Peters, I'd much rather give the latter a deputy role than buy Trippier.

story indeed. Put out by one of Levy's boys? Liverpool have always had enough dough for an 8mill fee and 11m Euros I remember VDV himself confirming as his personal terms. People in charge of multi-million corporations don't get turned over like that. Frazier Campbell with no option to buy. Oh.
I automatically disregard any article containing the word swoop.
For all this talk of Yedlin being a marketing ploy I'm sure if he can show he is good enough we will give him a shot.
He's said himself it's taken him a while to settle and Walker is struggling so we need someone who can play at a decent level now, Trippier gives us that. It's then up to Yedlin to rise to the level. I think he can as well.
Yes we signed him because he was cheap, looked promising and American but he's got to make it happen, it's not Spurs' fault if he doesn't, he's been given a great opportunity.
From the limited amount I have seen of Yeidlin he looks much more effective at RM than RB . Not too great defensively but has a lot of pace going forward . Played very well for the US against Germany the other day as an out and out winger.
He definitely hasn't got a corresponding wand of a right foot, to Bale's left. Still could be a dangerous option at RW though. So essentially a right-sided Bale?
More like Aaron Lennon actually but beats his man more often. So essentially a right-sided Bale?
