Can't be that pissed off as he has played a part in the last 3 games. Townsend etc... didn't even get to train with the first team.

Agreed. Rose spoke to him recently about interest from other clubs and Poch hasn't got rid of him. You can't have an open door policy only to close it when you don't like what they're asking.

Townsend crossed the line because he pushed one of our coaches. The others were sold on because they refused or couldn't adopt Poch's methods.

I'd imagine Walker is a totally different case and surely when you couple his service to the club, his general conduct (aside one or two indiscretions when he was a young lad), he deserves a lot more respect.

As I have posted previously, no one leaves unless Poch agrees it's in the best interest of the team/club.

That's all well and good. But whoever makes the final decision, it would be a massive mistake to sell Walker. Especially to someone in the prem.

To be fair Townsend wasn't an automatic starter anyway. Walker is much more high profile, and we're involved in a title race. Leaving Walker out of the squad would have caused a hoo-hah, and more questions for Poch. Leaving him out of the semi and NLD said enough, to me, anyway.

He played in both those games.

But if a player has had his head turned by money Poch may decide its best to sell, even if that player was someone he had considered integral to his future plans. That doesn't make it a good thing.

If Walker honestly wants to leave, then it's his loss.

He's improved immeasurably under Pochettino. Those brain farts only happen every month rather than every 60 mins.

For the first time in my lifetime, I back the club with whatever the outcome here.

As much as Walker leaving would need some navigating, it wouldn't be a critical blow. Just as long as it doesn't open the floodgates.

no doubt, but after reading that article theres not really much in it.

I doubt Rose has disclosed the full conversation there. Can you imagine "gaffer, there are rumours I am attracting interest from the world's biggest clubs, offering to double my wages"

"Focus on enjoying your football, Danny"

"You're the best, Poch"

There must have been some kind of promise to review it at the end of the season, either a new contract with us or whatever. Certainly his agent will not let the club get off that lightly.

I don't really demand much from Levy given he's doing a brilliant job but keeping this group together feels vitally important. It's not just their talent, but their character. We'd also lose some momentum by bedding in new players and send a negative message. I know finances are not as simple as this but I'd much rather keep this group together than spend millions on fees (and wages) to try to compensate for their loss.

That's what makes me think it's all agent driven. I bet he starts against West Ham.

tbh mate, all i hope from Poch/Levy is that we don't sell to English clubs.
We cannot stop our players getting their heads turned, we can't stop our players wanting to leave...what we can do is refuse to strengthen our rivals.

Walker is the best right back in the PL. Clear from his performances and who wants him. How can KWP even be part of the equation? He hasn't event started a PL game! There is a vast gulf between promise and being a top PL performer.
And you would have said the same about WInks last season. Now most would be more than comfortable to see him start a run of games in the League.

The fact is that we don't know how good a player is until he's given an opportunity. Without that Pochettino is in a far better position than any of the people here to judge whether KWP is ready for first team football. I don't know about you, but I completely trust the man; if he believes that KWP is ready then I'm happy to back him in.

Not disputing that.

I think the whole thing has been blown up out of all proportion (as usual) and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it all blew over. What would surprise me a great deal is if we sold any player to an EPL rival and I simply can't see that being sanctioned. Having said that, RB is probably our strongest position at present and we will lose one of Walker or Trippier sooner or later. I can see a big bid from abroad being tempting.

I go to a lot of games and use my eyes to judge players. Much like Poch does.

And it was Pochettino who picked Trippier ahead of Walker for Watford, Chelsea and Arsenal.

In a game of opinions, how many Spurs fans would say Trippier is better than Walker?

Pochettino did in the last three of 4 games.

I go to a lot of games and use my eyes to judge players.

Cliche claxon

How many clubs would think Trippier is worth £50million?

Maybe they would if they relied on useless stats like 'key passes' or 'tackles made'.

Maybe they have and that's why we might end with a better RB and a 50m surplus ?

You are so deluded, it's scary.

I think I will move on from this now, it's tedious.

It was tedious 10 years ago, it's just plain wrong now.

Nobody says stats inform an entire opinion, but no-one with any understanding of modern football thinks they have no place either.

We will sell walker to man city after lot of haggling in the next transfer window .. We won't buy any good quality RB to replace him. Come 1st game of the next season , trippier will injure himself and we will be left with no Right back. :\
