If we were forced to sell Walker I think I'd rather sell Trippier too. Between them we'll probably get £60m.

Promote KWP to definite back up RB and use much of that £60m to buy someone like Sidibe. I like Trippier as a back up but I don't see him as a title winning RB and if KWP is the future he's kind of in the way.

From what I've seen of Sidibe he has the best attributes of both Walker and Trippier and could actually be an upgrade as much as I love Walker.

Singing Walkers praises probably isn't the most kosher thing to do these days, but I'd say the Palace game showed a positive thing we get with Walker. His crossing was off, and Zaha was testing him as well as he could and showed some tricky feet at the half way line, but still; if I had a buck for every time Zaha managed to enter the final third with the ball and actually create something, I'd have exactly no bucks.

Zaha bullied him physically and came out comfortably on top in that match up.

So in a game where he wasn't at his best, he still nullified one of the leagues in form players.
To be fair Zaha is great at everything but end product. Burnley nullified him at the weekend and so have many other teams.

Now the only thing to be sure IMO is seeing OS and the social media training gallery showing Walker happily training.. All's not lost if we see that..

If not............... I am probably not expecting to see him start this Friday either...

I'll be gutted if Walker goes, and can't see how we wouldn't end up a weaker outfit if it happened, no matter what kind of money we got for him. Really, really hoping he stays.

Really poor defensively apparently.

If we absolutely had to lose one player from our first choice 11 it would be Walker, but I'd still be gutted if he left.

I don't want to lose ANY of our key players, no matter what the fee is, particularly to a rival.

Yh I'm trying to grasp at straws but I really can't see how we wouldn't be damaging what looks like a title winning team. Any signing is hit and hope. KWP stepping up straight away is fantasy world and Trippier improving massively is pure guess work.

People are seriously under estimating how much better a team we are with him and Rose as wing backs. I seriously hope he stays.

Losing Walker would not be a plus for this team .
Having Walker and Rose back together is something we seriously need ...
Had a strange thought though....Would Zaha come and be a RWB replacement ?
Only thought that as Son played LWB Vs Chelsea rather than Davies ?
Maybe that is a direction Poch sees !!

IMO though, having Walker at Wembley next year is a big plus .

Look, Tripper has a good cross on him and is a good player, but make no mistake, Walker brings a totally different dimension to our team. He's a machine. No one's gonna beat him 1 on 1 defensively, his pace makes up for that. Tripper struggles vs quick, agile forwards. Walker bombs down that right side, how many times do you see Verts, Dier or Toby play that long diagonal pass down to Walker, who almost always can run outside the opposing full back and reach it, or can jump to control the ball and stop it going out for a throw-in. Trippier just doesn't have that explosivity down that right side. It's not always about what Walker does with the ball when he gets it, but the constant threat he provides. He must always be on the oppositions mind. With Tripper they know he won't threaten in behind them at any point.

Walker for me is as essential as Rose.

Sorry did you not see Son against Chelsea? Don't know why people think attackers can play wing back! They can't

That'll go down well on here

Hugely risky. Not only was Son poor defensively vs Chelsea, he was limited going forward.

Zaha did very well pressing and closing down space vs us but as we have seen with Son, having to make defensive contributions inside your own box is a totally different matter. We'd be selling one of the best right wing backs in the PL for 50m, and getting an winger to play in a position he's untried. All for 40m. You can also be sure, Zaha will be on 100k a week.

I am not saying it won't work as who knows. Moses has converted to it well. Valencia and Young at UTD are wingers turned FBs. But it's a very expensive risk.

As did Trippier against Pedro and Sanchez who are both a shit load better than Zaha.

How's Moses done this year at Chelsea?
How's Valencia done at United?
I could go on...
