. It's how the other players and media will perceive us selling a senior player in their prime, possibly to a direct rival. Will it mean open season on the Tottenham talent pool?
yeah that's one of the reasons I'm not liking the potential sale either.

I want him to stay, and want him to want to stay.

I'm not particularly fussed if Walker is sold. He's got an engine on him, but his work in the final third is questionable, and he's prone to brain farts defensively.
Look at how we have done with Davies covering for Rose for the last 2 months - continued the unbeaten run. He might not be the same level of player, but he's consistent and is doing the job asked of him.
Same goes with Trippier/Walker.
It's possible that Poch doesn't see Walker as the ideal RWB and has his eyes on someone elsewhere, or is ready to bring players through the academy.

For me it depends how the money is re-invested.
£40 million transfer, plus whatever his current wage is, would certainly help us to increase the wage packet of more essential players.
I know it doesn't work this way, but say it's £40 million over 4 years. That's £10 million per season, or £190k per week, plus the £50+k he's on at the moment.
Enough to increase wage for Dele, Toby, Harry & Christian by £30k per week, with leftovers to spare!

Who do you suggest should replace walker in the squad, or should we
Just cross our fingers and hope trippier can play every game
.

You've never heard of KWP then?

Where have you been? :p

It would be very Pochettino like to sell Walker, then this time next year to have KWP overtake Trippier for the #1 spot, and we'll all be on here laughing about how 12 months earlier we were adamant that Walker needed to stay.

Probably wishful thinking, but given Poch's track record with youngsters it's not completely out of the question.
Agree with you. There is no point having a great youth setup and not using it like city and Chelsea do. It's poch's philosophy to do this. I think Edwards and kwp will be involved next year. If the money was to go towards lacazette or a player of that quality I would accept it and prob most fans would

This would be really bad if he left and 10x worse if it was to man.city. As a previous poster wrote, it's like a deck of cards at the moment, once one gets their head turned by more money etc and leaves then more will follow. Walker is arguably the best RB in the league this year him and rose were killing it for us. Really hope it's just rumours. I like Trippier but that's not the point, really don't want to see Walker leaving. Of the first XI he is one of the ones I'd be less gutted if he did leave compared to day Alli, Kane, Toby etc but still there is just no benefit for us, unless he's sold to say barca or another foreign club then it wouldn't be as bad.

When though? We've never had a mass exodus. If he leaves then I trust it's because Poch is happy to get rid and feels he can strengthen the group in some way.

That would be sweet. I think most people here aren't so much worried in how Poch will deal with losing Walker, the player. It's how the other players and media will perceive us selling a senior player in their prime, possibly to a direct rival. Will it mean open season on the Tottenham talent pool?

No. because Levy will never let more than one big player leave in the transfer window, it's never happened before. Even during the recent Sherwood debacle everyone was saying Jan, Lloris, Eriksen would move but we kept them. It seems the majority of players have a good rapport with Poch and are determined to win stuff with spurs so I doubt there will be too much unrest if a right back moves on. Everyone can see the bigger picture of what we're building at the club and they're all young guys so I don't see selling one player as a signal that we're open for business.

KWP is nowhere near the first team guys, probably needs a loan to gain experience.

Even though it's been stated numerous times on this forum that Poch keeps the youngsters he rates highest with the first team squad to learn his ways rather than sending out on loan?

Seen a lot of him have you?

So you think he is anywhere near the first team do you?

He is a prospect but at this stage that is all.

CCV and Onomah have more experience and yet are not featuring but you think KWP is or could be this year?

Bizarre.

CCV is a CB, and he played 2 domestic cup games. When else was was he going to get game time this season, when Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier & Wimmer were already ahead of him?? Not forgetting he's been out long term with injury.
Likewise Onomah as a lot of competition for his preferred position.

KWP has had Walker & Trippier ahead him. If Walker goes it will be natural progression to bring him through as Trippier's back-up, playing in the domestic cup games.

I would be more concerned if it was Rose that was being sold, leaving us with just Davies at LB.

For those who favour a digested read. P10 onwards:

He's crap. Fcuk him off and bring in KWP as back-up to Trippier
KWP isn't ready. We need another rightback. Sissoko will do if we can't buy one
He's a rightfooted Roberto Carlos. Can't believe that bald cnut Levy is mugging us off again and selling to a rival. Just you wait, the entire first XI will be gone by August just because that bald cnut Levy won't pay market rate
Levy is a genius. He is the only reason this club is where it is today. He will only sell him abroad

Interestingly enough, the fact that he hasn't gone out on loan suggests that he is close to the first team. If he goes out on loan, that would suggest that his first team prospects under Pochettino aren't high.
