Could be multiple reasons, perhaps our national team coach doesn't think he's quite ready yet. As talented as he is, he has only played one season of top flight football and the quality of the Swedish league is poor.

Another reason could be that our U21 team played important qualifiers. Maybe we thought it would be better that he (and other young players a lot of people wanted to see in the first team) played in those games rather than in some meaningless friendlies.
