I think that list goes to prove that its not quantity of players purchased but quality (although we lack both presently), of that list of players for all the other clubs there is a lot of crap, many of which have already been sold or no longer play for those clubs.
thanks, it really is no fkin wonder we struggle is it

I reckon if we checked FBs/WBs we'd be up there though

Incoherent approach to squad and team building

I wouldn't give them that amount of credit to be honest. Pool fans certainly don't. They've had the same problem with their midfield as we've had with our defence for about 3 years, they've just now finally got around to sorting it out.

Maybe. But the season before last they won the FA Cup and League Cup so it's not like it's been a catastrophe for 3 years. Whichever way you look at it they still deserve a bit of credit for the way in which they're trying to address their midfield this window.

That being said, I won't carry on this discussion in this thread, even if it's not being used as the VDV thread anyway!

Wow, that’s so bad. Dreadful reading. Why can’t the club get a scout that understands defences?

The single biggest issue on the playing side at the club for nearly a decade
Nearly a decade? I've been watching football for just over 50 years. In all that time, Spurs have rarely signed good defenders. That's probably a major reason why we've only had 3 or 4 seasons when we've been close to a league title. A look at the league tables over the last 50 seasons or so will show you that we've usually shipped too many goals for our own good.

Yeah - that FB/WB list would be equally depressing the other direction. We’ve probably got close to 200M of fullbacks/wingbacks and it’s still a massive weak area for us.

Agree partly but i do think Royal is a very good signing at a good price and potentially Udogie to.

This really should have been sorted before pre season, before Maddison, before any other signing. We leaked 60 goals last season and so far we are going into the season with the same back line.
If Wolfsburg were in financial distress, I suggest he’d have made the tour.

It is true though. Well at least in my head as well the poster you are conversing with.

One thing I do know for a fact is posts that I make that are negative are often followed by certain posters with"remember to apply salt with itk", when my posts are positive towards the club/Levy the very same posters are giving informative or winner ratings with no mention of applying salt(and this is a fact)

Tells me all I need to know about said posters ;)
To be fair less than a week ago you sent the site into meltdown by reporting something you'd been told, but you then walked it back a bit, and followed up by saying you'd been told two different things by two different people.

Maybe what you were told regarding both KMJ and Skriniar is true, or maybe you were told an incorrect version of events , which you passed on in good faith ?

I'm sure i read something either on here (or if it wasn't it would have been from somewhere where i'd rate the information as of a similar level or reliability) that said Mourinho didn't fancy the as yet untested KMJ - which i'd say is reasonably plausible version of events, given his career before Napoli.

As for Skriniar, he's been off to PSG for at least a year and has never seemed likely to come to Spurs at any time in my opinion, although that is just my opinion.....unlike the original poster i was replying to who presented his version of events as facts, not opinions (as well as prefacing it with childish name callings, which always gets my back up).

Everyone has a bias, especially on here, my bias may appear to be for Levy and it definitely does manifest itself that way, but it's actually more a bias against the rewriting of events or the misrepresentation of events, a bias against unsubstantiated opinions dressed up as facts and a bias against the disrespect some have towards decent players who are decent human beings.

Things constantly change whilst they are ongoing. They don't change 2 years after they've happened. Anyway that's all irrelevant to the point I made at the end of my post.

I think we have all come to realise that we will be going to Brentford with 2 from Romero Davies and Dier . Probably the home game with Man Utd a week later .

we are going to be scrapping around come deadline day for a lenglet type signing or the man himself .
