It’s weird how this guy was seen as the ‘nice to have’ in addition to Tapsoba back in the summer by everyone.

I had no idea what either were like, but I probably thought that too. The feeling was he was raw and not ready to play every game IIRC.

Just shows we know fuck all doesn’t it?

Reminds me of when we chased Willian and ended up with Eriksen.

I thought he should've done better with their goal. He backed off Matip and let him swivel and shoot. Outside of that though he was immense. Lee Dixon had no idea how fast he was.

He didn’t score that goal, but easy mistake to make. Matip is an excellent finisher.

It is genuinely not normal how fast he is.
In the first half Liverpool had a counter and a runner behind him. Salah played it in and I genuinely thought we were in big trouble.

Forgot that we dont have Dier or Sanchez back there anymore as Van de Ven easily bolted to get to the ball first.

Little details like that win points

Loved Micky‘s celebration in the background after our late winner.
Obviously he played a key part in the build-up.
But rather than running over to celebrate…he just collapsed spreadeagled over the pitch, ecstatic in his own unique way.

He was my man of the match. Just such an unbelievable presence at the back. So calm, so composed.
What an unbelievable signing. What a steal.
He’s the guy this club has been waiting for. Whoever identified and chose this signing deserves massive credit.
Massive credit!

As does Micky himself. A bit of a legend already.

A giant seagull appears to have been speared by a 2X4 in this picture. Most unfortunate.

I thought his defending for their goal was far too passive. Which was definitely a mistake, but that’s to be expected at this stage of his career, and given how new he still is.

Otherwise excellent.

Progressing well.
