Adjusted this post, got a bit trigger happy with the emoji's. Will try keep them simple from now on but I'm excited 🤣.

Tapsoba not completely out of the picture. But we won't be bringing them both in until we shift some of the deadwood. Interest in Tanganga, Sessegnon, Reguilon and Sanchez. Haven't heard of any interest in Rodon or Dier but that's not to say there isn't any.
Thanks H88. If we can agree deals for them both it will be a crying shame not to drag them over the line

Am i wrong to be worried by this one? He's young and only has a couple of seasons at this level.
Understandable. Given how poor defensively we’ve been and urge for more attacking shapes, it’s a big one player gamble on fixing it. Don’t really think this place would have been this buzzing over it a few months back, but the more Tottenham don’t play, the better they become.

I thought this was the route we were going. We clearly went in for Tapsoba early been a long slog like Raya and we apparently want stuff done quick so move on looks like we've shifted again

Thanks mate. Shame tapsoba not progressing as well sounds like we are struggling. Let’s hope we can shift the deadwood
Regs looked so happy to be back I’d rather him stay than Davies and sess.

I’ve become pessimistic and am going straight the the conclusion that we will end up with MvdV and Lenglet because Tapsoba was deemed too pricey.
I think it’s probably more a case of Leverkusen not really wanting to sell. Someone said they expect to lose Tah, Hincapie and Diaby, so they likely want to keep Tapsoba.

If we only get 2 CBs and they are VDV and Lenglet, it will feel like we have just gone the cheaper route again - and I say that as a big fan of VDV.

if we’re spending that on van de ven, no way we’re spending the same/more on tapsoba, maybe we’ve given up on tapsoba and moved kn swiftly again. Like the raya situation?
Why not

Mae need to sort that position out and have hardly spent relative to the competition - assuming we are even trying to compete

I mean if we have Romero, Tapsoba and VDV....who's on the bench? Wouldn't be fair for anyone, especially since we don't have European games

AMSTERDAM - Tottenham Hotspur appear to trump Bayern Munich and Liverpool in the battle for Micky van de Ven (22). The Londoners reached a verbal agreement with the VfL Wolfsburg defender on a contract until the summer of 2028, sources around the Premier League club report.

Van de Ven, who played with the Dutch national team at the European Under-21 Championship last week and has yet to undergo the medical in London, has the clubs to choose from after his good season in the Bundesliga, but Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy proved to be by far the most decisive. At the Premier League club, the Dutchman will earn a multiple of his VfL Wolfsburg.

But first the clubs still need to reach an agreement. VfL Wolfsburg wants a fee of around 40 million euros for the contract of the 1.93-metre tall defender, who was brought to the German club in the summer of 2021 by then coach Mark van Bommel, which runs until the summer of 2027. The final transfer fee is expected to be around €35 million.

That would be great news for FC Volendam, who collected 3.5 million euros when Van de Ven was sold in 2021 and negotiated a 15 per cent sell-on percentage.
My head is spinning. Are we in a dream?

We've got to stop worrying about things like this. We need quality back ups and tbf I wouldnt even want back ups...I want to see people trying to push each other out of that 1st 11. That is how you build success and competition. Let Tapsoba and VDV compete and when we are back in Europe we can rotate more.

I mean judging by the past few seasons you’d probably end up missing Romero for 15 games anyway. Think VDV could play LB if we play Porro RB as well.

If Ange and the assistant coaches are good at raising players games, probably yes. It might start out ugly but with patience and one more CB, this has hte makings of a good team.
