Keep Rodon or Dier for now.
I think I've only seen Rodon have one bad game. Granted, I haven't seen him have any great games either. Or many games full stop. But it always seemed strange how his performances (for a young guy) were decent but manager after manager didn't fancy him at all.

The thought of seeing Dier and Davies potentially starting for us again brings me nothing but dread and pain. But this is a real possibility with a couple of injuries.

He’s not a young player either. He’s 24. He’s played a woeful amount of men’s football. He’s never going to make it here, should have been moved on by now.
I don’t think he’s really had a run of games to fully know this

a years loan for me would put the tanganga argument to bed imo

I repeat. He’s 24. If he’s not managed a run of games at that age then he’s never going to.
Weird how much I agree, yet also I can’t shake this sense that the squad has been so woefully mismanaged for 4 years that I wonder if players like Tanganga, Skipp, Sess…young up and coming players, are a couple of years behind where they should be. They’ve been held back. Perhaps more is to come when someone believes in them. Just a thought.

Hence the need for a loan. His contract goes for a few more years so we aren’t in any push to sell him

he has added value being home grown and club grannies so feel we should have a bit more patience with him compared to the likes of dier, Sanchez etc

Sess and Tanganga are definitely a few years behind where they should be. But we don't have the time to see if they can figure it out here. Sell them and hopefully they can find their spark elsewhere.

As it stands, you’ll be seeing them a lot on tour too …

Fair.

But, what if Ange has them playing better?

How about we give everyone time to see how things shake out - maybe we get better players, maybe the current players improve.

Any player here willing to give their best effort has my support. If we need better players - that is not on the players themselves.

That would be far too logical for most

How many new managers have tried to get a tune out if them? How many chances does one need before you are convinced they aren’t up to it.

Doesn't matter to me.

I'd love to see Dier, Davies and a few others upgraded.

But, if the manager selects them - then I believe they are the best chance we have. And, if they are not good enough - that is not on the player, but on the manager for selecting, or for Levy/DOF for not upgrading.

Every player that goes out and does their best - even if it is not good enough - deserves the support of the fans.

No player really deserves the dog's abuse that some supporters dish out. If anything that frustration is misplaced towards the people that can actually do something about it.

We are light on home grown players so I just don’t think we will.

I'd keep Rodon as a homegrown if we got someone like Tapsoba who can shift across to the right side. Otherwise failing to get him we need a right centre back instead. It could be a matter of getting Tapsoba and VdV and keep Rodon with Romero. Or get VdV and Lenglet with Tosin and Romero. Either scenario we have 1 homegrown.
He’s welsh I know there are some homegrown rules on that now but is that just premier

I have a feeling we might bring Gallagher in for Hojbjerg as that would kill two birds with one stone. At centre back, I miraculously we can move on who we want to I wouldn’t be surprised if we brought in a younger HG one there too or give one of the kids currently at the club a go as fifth choice.

the best young centre back available in England at reasonable price is probably Wharton at Blackburn has huge potential Newcastle and Everton are sniffing around him saw him at Millwall he was outstanding in that game
