Guarantee the majority of people had never really seen either play before they whipped out youtube.

Including me lol.
I certainly haven't. 😁
I tend to go more off what certain people on here say because their opinions and views are usually pretty balanced and knowledgeable.
Then I'll read a few articles about them but that's about the extent of my "research".
I don't really get to watch much outside of Spurs.

I also have a weird thing about not wanting to watch YouTube comps because they're so easily misleading, so I don't even have a that to claim! 🤣

Very true. I heard nothing about this kid until this summer. I can certainly understand the interest, as he has all the assets, and mindset to be very good. But is still raw and rough around the edges. Won't be a couple of years until we have a better understanding of the kid's ceiling, as I think he's a late bloomer, plus you often see CBs develop later in their careers - all due to experience, which in turn, improves their ability to read the game. Many CBs take until their 25 to see their true potential.

The feeling I have about VDV is that if we miss out on him he will become a beast like how KMJ has become after we missed out on him.

I really want us to sign both, it's the perfect statement to our weakest position without us feeling like we haven't gone fulfilled like in many previous transfer windows.

I don't watch the YT clips either, it doesn't offer very much other than the players skills in isolation. I want to see how the player interacts with the whole team; what does he contribute, how does he affect the team, and those around him; how do his team mates interact with him, and how does it contribute to the team as a whole. You can't get that from a 5 minute, selective video edit.

As far as I know (which may well be much less accurate than info from other ITKs), the situation hasn’t changed. Tapsoba’s price is closer to, but not yet at, our ceiling. The van de Ven deal is ready to be finalized. Possible, but not probable to do both until an outgoing or two.

We’ll end up being the only top 6 club not to sell our unwanted to Saudi. Can see it coming a mile off.
the problem is, our players aren't "household names". Are they fine, yes. but the Saudi league wants big names and none of our players really fill that role. Before you come at me about Chelsea/Newcastle selling players there. They both have financial ties to that league so it makes sense.

I have this feeling too and I think it’s gonna happen this next season, so now is the time to sign him

I want him more than Tapsoba personally, if it was a choice between the two.
Same here. Whilst I feel Tapsoba is the more rounded player ATM, I think Van de Ven is gonna be something special. But I also thought Fazio was gonna be top notch for us.

Yeah I thought the same thing. There’s been stories of lesser known players in that league not getting paid their wages too which probably scares off a few lesser known names.

We should pull the trigger on this now and go for Tapsoba later if we can get some outgoings. Unfortunately though the Sessegnon injury is a massive blow as he's probably our second most sellable asset after PEH. I'm convinced a PL club would have paid £15m or so for him.

I can't see us getting good money for Sanchez, Dier, GLC, Ndombele, Rodon, Perisic etc. Reguilon might need to be kept on now and Ange might want to see how Bryan fares in some pre season matches after the tour. Personally i'm keen for us to retain Bryan as Kulu is our only left footer going forward.

Altho collectively including the savings on wages should help. But we need to shift some and that is the big problem.
